Yep. I know the lines have blurred a bit over the years but hasbro have said in the past that these size classes are to fit everyone's budget so all fans can have a version of character.
Not everyone especially a kid can afford a titan sized figure or even a voyager but if a kid goes into Walmart or target with a tenner given to them by their grandmother and they see a core class figure of say starscream they can buy it.
I love the line and have always supported that size class like i do with the Titans. They are great to pick up and mess with and are great desk bots. We've had a few great ones over the years.

Cybertron Starscream is probably the only one I'm going to pre-order for this batch.
lord ginrai
Most of those poor bots lost their legs as well
Afterburner
Lol they lopped off Ginrai's terrible trailer arms.

– no ramp
– no seats
– no minicon
– no actual separation for combined mode
Really? That's it for 200$? I want Archer back so much, he was much better designer.

Damn this kind of kills any hope of an upgrade kit where he gets his little seats back…

If they make core Blitzwing that turns into more accurate F-4, i would explode
Bumblebee2000
1. If Mini-cons were a no-brainer Micromasters/Targetmasters would have sold
2. A core Starscream is a more affordable version of the character for children, who are a minor share of the toy market according to anecdotal evidence
3. There are plenty of adults here who bought Core Optimus when the Kingdom figure was there

Fun fact Hasbro no longer kills you for ignoring the base mode calm down everyone

I\'m sorry, Tidal Wave\'s \"base mode\" looks ridiculous. Just leave him with the two modes he already has.
KodyCrimson
Oh gosh that alt mode on Starscream is horrible, mostly just due to the gaping hole, the rest I can understand.
Tidal Wave is fantastic though. Too bad I don't have the room, or want to allocate the budget, for him.
GitGudGabe
Right? Like, I get it to test out concepts Hasbro ain't confident in, like pretenders, BM, energon or jg1, but why make small versions of characters people already have? Especially when the play patters don't support them?Back when we had Titans with base modes, Modulators like airwave, and basemodes like the TR leaders, it had its place- but Metroplex is an excavator and the ark/ nemesis are ships.
Also, why, for goodness sake, aren't they using it to release minicons? It's a no brainer! Metroplex has been out for two years, and there's no listing for drillbit, Tidal wave is about to hit the shores, and there's no mention of ramjet! Especially when we have rock motorcycles and the second rumble mold in a year.
I swear, the only good one is mohawk. I hate TLK, everything it represents, and what it has done for the franchise, but I like him.
jamarmiller
there was no Febuary pre-orders right ? I didnt see them anywhere at least
ZapRowsdower
Core class??? Ok, that explains some of the design…
It's weird how Core class sells badly, despite some of the cool designs. Though, I do prefer that they use the class for small bots like Gears, Brawn, etc. Micro-sizing random bots is…. not a successful sales strategy.
BLOODRAGED189
Starscream's transformation is pretty involved for a core class, which is mega dope. I love the way the legs encapsulate the arms, even though it does leave the backs of his legs pretty hollow.
