About a month ago, it was revealed that Hasbro has filed a trademark application for Power Core Combiners. Today, the reason was revealed courtesy of 4Chan. As many suspected, Power Core Combiners will be part of a new, upcoming Transformers toyline. One of the initial figures appears to be Huffer, which features TARGETMASTER (!!!) partner Caliburst. The released image features the packaging with a mock-up of the figures inside. No other information has been revealed.

Looks like our favorite Robots In Disguise will be making a comeback in 2010 with a new incarnation and mandatory cartoon to follow.
Casting is currently being held for voice actors. Transformers Generation 1 and Animated veteran Michael Bell has stated in an interview during a podcast that he has auditioned for it. The casting is being done by none other than Sue Blu, known for her voice as G1 Arcee, and casting/production work on Beast Wars and Transformers Animated.
Bell auditioned for Ratchet, and also a (presumably human) character named “General Fowler”.

New Hasbro Trademark Application – Power Core Combiners
Transformers @ The Moon reports that Hasbro has applied for a new Transformers trademark. The trademark is for “Power Core Combiners” and is categorized as “toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms”.
It is not yet clear what a “Power Core Combiner” is. Could it be a new subline coming in 2010, or a new play pattern for whichever line follows on from Revenge of the Fallen? Click on the discuss button to join in the speculation on our 2005 Boards and share your own theories.
New Transformers Iniative for the Hasbro Channel "Hunt for the Decepticons"
At Hasbro’s Investor Day in Rhode Island, some new details have emerged for a new Transformers based initiative on their new television channel following the start of Hasbro’s joint venture with Discovery. The new initiative will be called “Hunt for the Decepticons“. Hasbro also announced that Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman will be working on content for the new network, and although they did not connect their names with the Transformers project, it seems likely.
