Lmfao. We pick sides on the fandom now? What even is going on. Both sides coming up with strawmen arguments and being passive agressive towards each other.

They are like "Movie fans caused the Holocaust" lmaooo. Which is common in Facebook Transformers groups
JayEm
They love blaming the movie fans for any and everything. I’m not even a huge fan of the Bay films but I’m here for the Bayverse fans because so many folks on here constantly treat them like crap for no reason.

Okay since I forgot to turn notifications and I am watching a show, I've had more than enough.
I don't know much about the Wheeljack situation other than some stuff so I cannot be the judge here. But I think it has most likely due to your past behavior on movie threads like you know… constant whining, derailing threads, arguing and you know sometimes you very loosely insult people publicly. This is not even counting the times where you even tried to justify your criticism of the movies as "objective" and misusing the word whenever you saw fit. You know how more often than not when someone explains why your points are flawed you either….
1. Indirectly make of them or straight up insult them
2. Call them by name and make fun of them publicly
3. Or completely ignore them
or my favourite
4. "uhh uhh i cannot have a conversation with you because you just disagreed with my point you clearly fail to see what i am talking about"
and all of that in a lovable condescending tone as the cherry on top.
Now saying all that, I ask you: why would people treat you any different than you treat them then generalize them like you just did or how about all the previous times, ESPECIALLY in the movie forum. Are you still questioning it?
You just contradicted yourself. Funny how that works. I wouldn't necessarily call those people "insecure". I think it's a fair assumption that most people can get defensive about things they enjoy and don't pretend that hasn't to any of us at any point of our lives. Speaking of that though, why is it surprising that fans of the movies are super defensive considering literally everything that's been happening for 15 fucking years. Perhaps some are a bit too defensive? Yeah, those exist and they also exist in every single piece of media. Not defending this behavior either and people shouldn't be unironic dicks to you or anyone over anything.
But I am just surprised why you need to be told this? You've certainly been told many times and I don't expect my post to change but hey I just wanted to throw my hat onto the ring. Hell you will probably just brush it off which is not very uncommon for you. But either you are so far up your own ego that it's that hard to see what everyone is telling you… or I don't know. It's most likely just that lol. Just saying this one last thing though: Nobody is saying you can't criticise something but acting like entitled asshole about it in most movie threads, passing off your judgement as "objective" and then being surpised people are being mean spirited towards you is that weird then I don't know… maybe nobody wants to hear about your opinion? You don't have to voice everything and anything inside your head.
Again surprised that you need to be told this.
Zemah
I don't disagree. My point has never been that @Novaburnhilde is the sole user going after others, she is however the only one I've seen to deny it and throw away any and all criticism when she get's called out on the way she acts. Users need to stop criticizing the people having opinions about these movies and start criticizing the movies themselves.
I'm pretty damn sure I've gone after others in the past for their opinion just has Nova and others here have done. If I have then I won't deny it, but at least I can attest to that I don't want to be like that anymore.
Opinions should be allowed. Peaceful discussions about these movies should be possible. One's point of view won't change by living in an echo-chamber.

I didn't find the remark offensive – I simply disagreed with it. Unlike certain people in this discussion (not you, @Paok), I don't get offended by other people having a different opinion to mine.
She is perfectly free to criticise what she views as an inferior product – I have never said that she should not, as we are all entitled to hold and share our opinions. But then… other people are perfectly free to hold dissenting views and, if their reasoning is logical and well-thought out, their views are just as valid.
That is the key point here – there shouldn't be, on any side, a) personal insults or b) disrespecting the validity of the opinions of others. We should be able to have honest discussions about these things.
Absolutely – and I wasn't accusing her of that. Again, I did not find the remark offensive – I disagreed with the position, but I did not find the remark personally offensive… because, again, I don't get offended when people hold different opinions.
The point I was making is… it's nice when the things we enjoy are able to be enjoyed by other people. I'm not getting offended on anyone's behalf – just clarifying a sentiment here.
Who cares if my ten-year-old cousin thinks Bumblebee is mute and talks through the radio or Carol Danvers is the only Captain Marvel… if she's positively engaging with the franchise?
ROTB is probably going to be her first introduction to concepts like Maximals and Predacons and characters like Optimus Primal and Cheetor and Rhinox… and that's completely fine.
JayEm
It’s true. There’s definitely hypocrisy coming from all sides in a lot of these threads. Folks are out here treating each other like trash.
TitoG13
Thats all great but all those users do the same thing to others simply for voicing concerns for the movie
Zemah
I'm guessing you've had a change of heart, because throughout my time on this forum you have definitely called people "dumber" on multiple occasions. Here's a few:
You have even said this, but I guess you forgot about it as well:
So I'm sorry if me and many other users don't fancy ya that much.
TitoG13
Imagine having an opinion
JayEm
You told folks who liked the Wheeljack head/the Bay films that they were mindlessly consuming a “shitty” product. That’s called judging someone’s tastes lol.

Good stories get a sequel, but only the best get a Trilogy.
Novaburnhilde
I genuinely don't see the point in making a third thread if the same shit is just gonna happen when another thing is revealed that some fans find disagreeable.
waniel239
Perhaps even thrice!
Novaburnhilde
Also figured I'd address this:
If you're talking about myself then you're misrepresenting my position by poisoning the well: I don't give people crap for what they enjoy because ultimately I don't care what people enjoy, I criticize a shitty product and people who are evidently very insecure and lacking in confidence think I'm making a judgement of their tastes.
At no point have I said people are dumber and have 'poorer' taste, you're simply seeing an intention that doesn't exist. You and apparently @Zemah are reacting poorly to positions I've not taken.
The wider internet usually refers to this sort of thing as 'schizo posting'.
Zemah
Perfectly said.
Over the years I have learned to not care as much about her comments since they always tend to be either hyperbolic, arrogant, hypocritical, or passive-aggressive towards a certain group of TF fans (you can guess which one
). Criticizing media is one thing, but when you start going after the people who enjoy the media… that's where I nope out.
MirageROTB
"movie stans"
Paok
Duh.

I don't understand what's offensive about her remark. She has a point, in fact. And I fail to see what relevance your younger relatives who like mute Bumblebee have to do with it. Cheers, I guess? Good for them?
I don't understand how, in discussing the idea of, like a regressive adaptation of a character, somebody gets offended on behalf of their toddler nephew, who just happened to see a big yellow robot and smiled.
I mean… We do understand that criticizing ideas, characters, franchises, or at least, corporations, and their politics is not the same as criticizing people, don't we?
Novaburnhilde
I love how this all started simply from people not being a fan of the head slapped onto Wheeljack and once again the movie stans have flown off the handle and are seemingly incapable of voicing their thoughts in a respectful manner without being super defensive, divisive and lashing out at others.
