Prime 1 Studio Premium Masterline Transformers: War For Cybertron Optimus Prime & Megatron Statues Cancelled – Transformers News – TFW2005
Squidhead
Coulda seen this cancellation coming from the moment these were first announced
MindChamber
Probably for the best, that would've been alot of work based on Toy models for a terrible show.
Rumble2013
So I was just looking on Prime 1's site and it seems like this project has been canceled along with their WFC Optimus. Honestly, it seems like the right move if you want my opinion.

It's really all in the face for me too. He looks so evil and intelligent. I feel like most Megatron face designs go for the evil look over the intelligent look, but this one strikes a really nice balance. I've always loved Nizzi's transformers art for how nuanced it is in subtle ways
MindChamber
not on board with the galvatron-ish horns.but man is that a beautiful face.. and the treads as a cape is really refreshing
Smasher
I never imagined I'd see a super expensive statue designed to look exactly like the $30 toy that originated the character.
Hollow bits, unnecessary wheels, even the pegs for the blast effects to plug into.
It's so crazy to me.

I prefer Josh Nizzi's other Megatron design

THE-TRANSFORMER
Prime 1 have designed their own take on Megatron. It sold out and looked like this:
I can't speak for threezero, however….
…. The owner of Prime 1 is a massive Transformers fan. Kinda why he named the company "Prime" 1 after you know who. Their first license to produce statues were for Transformers and they've continued to do so even though they don't sell as well as their other properties.
That said, Prime 1 also love making statues of things that already have 3D models to just drop in and produce, so the WFC series was a match made in heaven.
MindChamber
It's literally a statue of a Toy.. I know they're lazy bums, I never said it was intentional, doesn't mean it doesn't break the 4 wall..
SPLIT LIP
It's still not 4th wall breaking at all, it's just really inattentive/lazy design. It's not an intentional reference to the toys, just Roosterteeth not giving a shit.
MindChamber
well technically is 4th wall-breaking since the CG models for the show were the actual CAD models used for the toys.
bearytrek
sort of shocked the ultimate versions don\'t come with energy mace and axe

As much as I hate the WFC show, I have to admit that this statue looks great!

Yeah, the number of products that assume people are going "Yes, I found the Netflix War For Cybertron series so personally affecting, I need multiple high-end reproductions of the character models" is extremely weird.
Like, the fandom isn't homogenous, there's a lot of Transformers fiction out there where there'll be arguments about how good it is, but it's still obviously important enough to a critical mass of people that'll support this level of devotion. This, uh, does not strike me as one of them.

I like the WFC designs just fine, and I LOVE the toys — good on Hasbro/Netflix to have the smart in making the show CG appearances so toy accurate but which makes these premium statues dumb as an idea, no matter the price (not bashing on "non-transforming" TF statues in general, just in THIS WFC designs cases). No doubt there's only a very limited # of rich fans go "I pray that Prime1 can come up with as close to a 1-to-1 replica of the WFC/Netflix design statues!" The 3Zero figures I can see the value in them (premium paint, size, gimmicks and articulation), these Prime1 statues? Not so much.
But laugh & mock all we want (not a good attitude anyway), but don't blame Hasbro for this (unless Hasbro is forcing/paying Prime1 to bring these out contractually). It's most likely Prime1's idea & execution all the way.
darthsutius
That is an incredibly, high-quality execution of an absolutely shit-house idea.
Just………why?
Retroheavy
Man, hasbro must have really been banking on the WFC trilogy to be a bigger hit that it turned out to be. I can only imagine prime 1 studios and 3zero received huge kickback on their license agreement to produce these things.
Just to be fair the WFC toys are pretty great. The Netflix series on the other hand was rough. I watched the first two seasons but couldn’t get past the first episode of season 3.
Pushan Halder
Even better, isn't it?
Fallout
we're going to get the PVC titan heroes megatron rereleased as "limited edition war for cybertron megatron sofubi"
