Thanks to Gokin.it website we have our first look at the impressive Action Toys Ultimetal Rodimus Prime And Galvatron from the ACGHK 2021 convention (Ani-Com & Game Hong Kong).
It’s been a while since we haven’t heard any update of the high-end collectible Ultimetal line from Action Toys which had previously released Ultimetal Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus and Megatron. Now they surprised us with not only one but two new upcoming figures: Rodimus Prime and Galvatron. Both figures feature a Japanese Studio OX design, a wide range of articulation and premium finishing. As we can see from the images, Rodimus Prime includes extra parts to convert him into Hot Rod.
There’s still not much additional information about these figures, but they should be around This figure stands 17 inches (43.18 cm) tall if we consider the size of previous Ultimetal figures. See the images after the break and let us know if you are interested in these new figures.

BBTS has Rodimus and Galvatron again.

The price is roughly $100 cheaper than any online store I can find, but the release date is 08/23? The figure is out for sell already. Is it also from Japan? I wonder what the shipping cost would be.

Since the thread is now bumped anyway….

Mine seem to be in really good shape. And the leg pull on Galvatron mentioned earlier was pretty smooth. Plus on Rodimus, the parts to change him back and forth are easy to swap out. View attachment 29761630

I have no idea what the fuck I am going to DO with this thing.
I'm pleasantly surprised to report no QC problems at all. Construction is solid and the main joints are tight enough for creative posing. The weakest joints are the elbows, which is troublesome if you want him to point his grey blaster straight ahead (the shoulders are more than strong enough to point the particle cannon). The belt is not attached to anything and spins around his waist like a hula hoop with any contact. If that's his only assembly flaw I will happily accept it.
There was a separate card stuck into the manual warning of extra caution around his hips. You need to pull the hips down away from his pelvis to gain enough range of movement before posing them – otherwise his codpiece will scratch their paint off. This is VERY unnerving to deal with as each hip is mounted separately on its own plastic elevator and require excessive force to yank them down for the first time. There's a good 2 centimeters of range down there and it gives every impression you could tear the plastic right out of the metal. It's also difficult to get the two hips to the exact same extension, mostly just because of fear factor.
Yeah it's 5 pounds mostly of metal. Beautiful and looks better the more I gawk at it and pose it. As correctly described earlier in the thread, the entire torso, pelvis, and shins are heavy, cold metal. I'm on red alert at all times, I seriously was not as afraid of breaking my newborn babies (well, not the 2nd one anyway, lol). Everywhere on him, stuff moves. Random armor plates are articulated and swively all over.
It's a stunningly beautiful display piece and I have no idea where I can display it. With all the spikes and stalks coming off him he needs about as much shelf volume as G1 Omega Supreme – and that's just the figure, not the footprint of the display base, which I think I am nervous enough to use.
I may need just some temporary safe-enough solution while I lug an extra nightstand or something into my display room for him. I'm VERY pleased with it but the many bad QC reports and the ridiculously dense and mobile design require handling with care.

EDIT: I spoke too soon. Bwahahaaaa!

How do you feel about him? Things such as joint tightness, articulations, overall quality? I am debating if I should get FT-16M or this version of Galvatron.

Galvatron has arrived! It's so cold out, I'm leaving the box untouched in a warm room overnight before I chance any joints. Just from looking through the bubble, everything looks intact. *crosses fingers*

Jesus H, did they ship him rejects or something? How did the leg break in the packaging? Also it's bizarre seeing the torso crunch on Roddy be that floppy when it's probably the stiffest joint on the toy.
Hope he gets refunds/replacements. I've seen bad QC but that's something else entirely.

This is disturbing:

Odd, mine can definitely bend its elbows beyond what's in those pics. You should be able to get at least another "click" out of them.

The store replaced my copy.
All is well aside from the usual loose joints.
I really dont know why they designed his arm joints this way. That extra piece of plastic is blocking it from doing a wider arm bend.

Can you share a link to those products? I will check if If I can get one locally.
Thanks

Applications of Kiki or Future will do the job. I used Kiki over a couple of days. Did the job nicely. You don't need to use much, and have a cotton bud handy to keep things clean.

Got it from a local retailer here in Philippines.

What store did you get them from?

I contacted the store where I got my copy from. No response from the supplier yet though.
How can we fix the knee joints of this guy?
JetfirePrime760
Just got my 3 day stock notice from the chosen prime,
Excited to get both of these guys

Yeesh, that's a lot of issues on one go. Where did you get yours from? I'd consider contacting wherever you got yours and talk about exchanging for a better one.
Of your issues, only the weak arms appeared on mine, but it is definitely a drawback. He can't hold the photon eliminator up one-handed, and two-handed poses are a lot more restrictive and specific. Even if you don't want to pose it like he's firing the gun, it means he can't just hold it up in the air, or be in an action pose where it's not pointed down. I also do wish the knees were ratcheted. Mine aren't loose per-se, but it's an odd thing to not have on a figure this size.
Definitely a lot of areas this could be improved. It's still gorgeous, and aside from those main issues I can't really think of much to complain about, but any figure should be reasonably capable of holding its accessories IMO. (the photon eliminator isn't even that big) I also feel like the ankle tilts aren't particularly useful despite the range in the hips and knees.
