While back in June this year, we reported an amazing Bilz And Pap Soda Commercial featuring Evergreen Characters like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Windblade.
Chilean company Believe, the studio behind this commercial, has shared an interesting breakdown video about how all the digital effects and animation were made. A very nice piece of creativity and animation, which even used part of the streets of Santiago (capital of Chile) as background.
You can check out the video below, and then join to the discussion on the 2005 Boards!

Adorable commercial, absolutely loved it.
That said, did anyone else think this scene:

Was going to turn into some variation of this?
Angry Camaro
Bee's car is really ugly! Way overdone. Those rear taillamp are directly pulled off the Ford GT. Very cool that a model year 14/15 Camaro (in correct colors) was used as the stunt car. No wonder they were able to get those power slides!

Awesome how they used a real-life cab-over-engine truck for Prime. I still have yet to see one on actual roads.

Make the faces and joints a little more detailed and you'd have excellent live action movie designs.
fafireguy
As well as just overall placement. It is easier to track where the effect needs to be with a physical representation there.
Dark Prime
Need the movies to have this but bayformers suck balls so badly

If they can't get this studio to do a new Movieverse, then they need to get Michael Smith and whomever else is in his studio.
Everything Man
I thought this was from the new bumblebee movie, I am heartbroken that it is not.
transmasterc
You said it. Not the walking junk heaps that are the bayformers.

I would guess those are the mascots for the brand of soda. I got to admit the animation looked very good. The transformations of the characters looked very crisp too.

It\'s amazing how much the real video backgrounds add to the look, even with commercial budget level CG. It\'d be cool to see a show done like that. But I feel like if a regional soda company can afford it…[/QUOTE]

That\'s pretty cool. Though I do wish they had put this much effort into animating the actual new show. The animation here looks way better than the new show does.
Josh
gotta admit thats a pretty neat commercial. really nice cgi!
i'd be curious to see if a live action TF show could be on the cards, with cgi similar to this. I think they could pull it off [unless the budget was just ridiculously high for this one commercial and they splurged xD]
griffn29
I know right? I'm assuming the live action vehicles were done as reference for the shading on the cg??

If anything these guys should be working on the war for Cybertron series. Anything would be better than machinima's "animation".
CyberstormSM
That's very impressive CGI, and it's for a TV commercial!

Damn straight!!
Its coming bro, 2019 probably limited exclusives or something. Kinda like the Cyber Battalion line.

These look AMAZING! See, more simplistic designs CAN work on the big screen! Add a few more filters (not the super clean car mode to dirty ass war torn robot with even the clean, waxed car parts suddenly appearing dirty AF) but maybe the robot parts under the car shell could have some type of weathering while still being shiny like in this commercial.
Love. It.
Rob
Give me these type of designs in a live action movie
