Behind The Scenes Of The Birdmen Stunt For Transformers: Dark Of The Moon
Director Michael Bay selected a group of precision skydivers to perform stunts in Transformers: Dark of the Moon after seeing the extreme sportsmen on ’60 Minutes’ one night. The show featured footage of the skydivers jumping off mountains with the help of wingsuits, which allow the guys to essentially fly.

Who else wants to see Starscream divebomb after these guys, huh?
And I'm also going to go out on a limb here and say that this scene with the guys gliding down is eventually going to lead into those scenes that were filmed where the parachutists "land" on top of Decepticons and open fire on their faces.

Human alliance basic with one of these guys now!!!

Once again, Bay raises the bar on what can be done using practical camera shots.

also when they show the falling burning plane into the camera, one guy gets slammed in his back by the back part of the tail wing while the plane is falling right above/toward him & at the same exact time another guy slams himself into the back rotor engine housing while it's on fire while trying to avoid the falling plane
Faded-Myth
Totally didn't notice that one guy falling while on fire, flailing around. Nice detail there.

That will the one of the most badass scenes in the movie.
And that's coming from a guy that hates military scenes in the Transformers movies!

he's saying the only mammals that truly fly, are bats.

That is some crazy-@$$ stuff from a practical standpoint, but there was one thing that caught my eye. Matthew Butler (credited as "Visual Effects Supervisor", for Digital Domain) is interviewed briefly regarding the scene, so although it may not be official confirmation, it's my guess that DD will be working on that sequence, or at least part of it. Perhaps some digital doubles, digital enhancements, camera helicopter removal and such. And of course giant falling burning Ospreys.
And we even got some official shots from the film, as opposed to "just" filming. Extended Osprey falling and guys dodging the whilst flying.
Nelson burn.
