With all the new characters coming to light in the form of vehicles seen on set and cardboard cutouts of heads on sticks, some of you have been wondering about the fate of existing characters who have not been seen on set yet. Case in point, the Chevy Volt character Jolt. Added to Revenge of the Fallen late in the day he got very little to do in that movie, but with him in on the ground floor he could get some better screentime in the third movie, right?
Unfortunately, no. Nelson dropped by our 2005 Boards to answer the question many of you are asking.
“No Jolt.”So sorry Jolt, it looks like your 15 seconds of fame were driving along that one stretch of road and helping Optimus Prime combine with the body of the recently deceased Jetfire.

XD I love this. I also feel that the patchwork insanity of Revenge of the Fallen matched G1 perfectly, it's probably the best of the movies in that regard.

I'm of the mind that if you're going to kill off a character, kill 'em off on screen. I shouldn't feel obligated to read movie adaptations or prequel novels to understand what happened to the characters in the movie. Jolt was kind of interesting, I guess. He was far less controversial or offensive than the Twins and he had a cool design. It's a shame that he was nothing more than a walking billboard for GM's hybrid program. Had the Volt retained a sporty, sexy design I think his character would've been better received. Problem is the Volt is a Prius with a Chevy bowtie, and you can't put a Prius next to a Next-Gen Corvette, Camaro, and a bunch of Monster trucks and expect it to stand out.
PS, who keeps resurrecting these dead threads?
Tracer
Sure but why not just have them show up in the background of a fight scene, even if its just to get popped. If people hate the twins all the better. Some closure is better than none. Even Jar Jar got better than this
SPLIT LIP
I do. Jolt was a last-minute inclusion by GM, he serves no purpose. The twins were dropped because everyone hates them.
Incepticon
The inexplicable absence of old characters and the sudden appearance of new characters… Bay has followed G1 more than he thought

where do you find these threads?
blue death
If you read the DOTM movie adaptation comic then you'll understand why Skids and Mudflap won't be sticking around. lol. It's pretty awesome
Tracer
I don't get eliminating these characters like Jolt, Skids and Mudflap. The CG models are already done. Just leave them in as background fodder. No need to drop them completely.

Jolt was a pretty cool character, he was shown a few times throughout the movie like
when they were shutting down the NEST project he was on the back of the truck so jolt didnt just appear at the end out of no where, he was in the movie the whole time, just a minor charactor
