Sam “King Samlock” Smith have updated his Instagram account with another “From Screen To Toy” special, now showing off the new Transformers Rise Of The Beasts Studio Series Core Freezer for our viewing pleasure.
We had seen Freezer’s robot mode in the begging of January and we finally saw his weapon mode combined with ROTB Scourge during the recent Hasbro Transformers Fanstream. Now Sam Smith has shared new images and turnaround videos showing the development of this new Core class toy which will have several weapon configurations and it will be able to combine with ROTB Scourge in alt mode for extra fire power.
Not much left to say, so watch the videos after the jump together with Sam’s comments about this new core class toy. Let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

“POWER IS PRIMAL”
Finally we have the full reveal of this character to share! Introducing Terrorcon Freezer! This little guy is total nightmare fuel, and he makes a great addition to the villain character roster. Sadly we didn’t get him featured in the first trailer, but hopefully we get a chance to look at his onscreen appearance before the film drops this summer.
We were made aware early on in development that this character would not have an alt mode in the film, so we got to work on creating a transformation that would feel in character for Freezer. We wanted to get as much versatility out of the character, without deviating from his onscreen appearance. We settled on having him transform into a cybertronian sentry turret, that could double as DLX weapon accessory that is compatible with our 5mm weapon post system. In addition to a 3rd mode that was compatible with our Leader Class Scourge.
It was an ambitious design proposal, but TT was up to the challenge! Kunihiro Takashi was a fantastic parter to work with and quickly got to work on flushing out a transformation plan. We developed Freezer in parallel to Scourge to ensure that we could maintain close compatibility.
Freezer features a distressed color palette and has rusted weathering applied across his robot and alt forms. His Bright orange eyes are accented by some highlights on the back plate, and he has some nice metallic mechanical details utilized throughout the design.
NOTE: I won’t be sharing full Screen to Toy asset breakdowns prior to the films release out of respect to our studio partnerships.
What are your thoughts on ROTB Freezer? Are you excited to see him join the Terrorcons? Share below in the comments!

I read this in a very different context.

Could've done it in the same fashion as they did those huge ROTB Bee and Prime figs.

I imagine that sort of gimmick would have happened if leaders were as large as they used to be.

Would of loved if he could be inside scourge and come out his back .
