I’ve been listening to this podcast for over ten years, and it’s one of my all time favorite podcasts.
I really miss listening to new episodes.
I understand that these are weird times, and a lot of us – myself included – are feeing a whole lot less excited about transformers right now.
But I’ve always enjoyed listening to you guys talk toys and everything else.
Hope to see more podcast episodes soon. And thank you for all the great years of content.

Not to pry, but did ya’ll record another episode lately?

After going through the writing and production credits for Cyberverse, it looks like exactly one staff writer from Cyberverse made the jump to the WFC trilogy. Gavin Hignight is credited as a writer for most of both seasons of WFC and a staff writer for the whole run of Cyberverse. I'd say the biggest problem is having FJ Santo as the showrunner, but that's just me.

Thanks for this you guys, it was thoroughly entertaining to listen to you go over this "season". I also I feel like you've helped me answer a nagging question I've had about this "show": who is it for?
It's a weird thing for me, because I didn't really feel like it's for anyone. It's expecting the audience to know so much about G1, but also not know this kind of thing has been done, like, 5 times over.
The closest answer I can figure is this is a show primarily for the current Transformers brand leadership. I think only there you would find such an appreciation for referencing this dense, but only "the cool parts" of G1. Somewhere on a whiteboard at Hasbro's media division, there was still this idea written on it, next to the smeared remains of the Transformers cinematic universe plans: "Make a show that looks like those 'nerd' property streaming service shows everyone likes." and this is what came out when that concept collided with post-TLK "retreat to safety" plans.
It's not got the writing quality, but it's clearly modeled after how those streaming shows generate buzz. It's practically crafted to drive people to those ENDING EXPLAINED!! Youtubers with its breathless references intended to make a "casual" go "woah, I recognize that!" 5 times a minute, until they're convinced they're watching the deep lore, the real Transformers, and they must be a bigger fan than they thought. All the while, the tone and pacing work their hardest to try keep you from realizing it's literally just "the cool parts" of the G1 cartoon in bullet points, machine gun fed to you.
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to gatekeep about what a "hardcore" fan is, but I feel this is what this show is aiming at, a concept of a "hardcore fan" that's just surface level they can still be hyped by being shown evergreen, iconic imagery. It's designed to make you feel "hardcore" if you recognized what a Quintesson is.
I really hope I'm proven wrong, but at this point I'm expecting Kingdom to just be a similar arrangement of bullet points, similarly missing what context they may have had, and with a directorial mindset that believes themselves to be the most audacious risktaker, the most cunning trickster, the ultimate troll, if they dare look you in the face and say:

I'll be glad when this RSS thing with Pocket Casts gets sorted but FYI to anyone that might be unaware, Google Podcasts app picks up the feed, just fine. That's how I've been listening for the last few months.
