TFW2005’s Top Official Toy Picks of 2022
Another year in the books! 2022 is done and as we wait for Evolution and Rise of the Beasts, the TFW2005 team is looking back at all the toys from last year and picking their favorites. There were a couple which ran neck and neck but the eventual most picked BESTEST one was none other than Haslab Victory Saber. He just eeked out Legacy Motormaster and Legacy Jhiaxus. That being said, there was a wide variation in what folks picked, both as their first choice and in the runners up, showing that there was a varied range to choose from this year. Read on to check out what we thought and then head on over to the 2005 Boards to let us know what you think! [Read more…]
WTF @ TFW Podcast Episode 625 Now Online
Our memory is kind of fuzzy in Episode 625 of WTF @ TFW. Aaron is back? Vangelus is hunting for more robot woman? We’re pretty sure TJ is lost in some sort of Jungle expedition or something. I dunno. It’s getting kinda heavy, Doc.

Transformers Toys – Late 2022 Releases
As we work our way to Legacy Evolution and Rise of the Beasts in 2023, we’re taking a look at some late year 2022 drops. I’m a bit strapped for time so I was unable to dig in and do full galleries for any of these – or for pretty much anything this year except a select few. However the fine folks at Hasbro PR sent through a care package with some recent stuff and I felt the need to crack those boxes and play around a bit. Read on to check out just a few shots of :
Studio Series The Fallen, Studio Series TF5 Hot Rod, Studio Series 86 Ironhide, Studio Series 86 Rumble, Legacy Skullgrin, Legacy Pointblank, Legacy Dead End, Legacy Armada Starscream, and Legacy TM2 Megatron.
Each of these are out now at various stages of availability across the web, so hit our sponsors or Hasbro Pulse to snag your copies.
–> TFSource, Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store, The Chosen Prime, Ages Three and Up, Amazon, Hasbro Pulse
After you check out my glorified play sesh, we invite you all to head over to the 2005 Boards and share pics of your favorite 2022 figures after the break!
Threezero DLX The Last Knight Optimus Prime In-Hand Gallery
Time for another look at an upcoming Threezero piece – Transformers the Last Knight DLX Optimus Prime. Coming in at about 11 inches tall, the DLX line is mid range from Threezero, giving folks a sweet spot between their MDLX / standard Hasbro figures and the super big (and pricey) Premium scale. Prime is of course taller given his size on screen, so he rightfully stands well above the recent DLX TLK Bumblebee, though exact scale is not 100% here. The figure features 73 points of articulation, multiple accessory swaps for the hands, face, and weapons, plus lights in the eyes. Paint is top notch as usual, the movie toys really shine when Threezero does it right, and this version of Prime does. The fine folks over there sent us a copy a little early to take a look at, so read on to check out over 70 HD images and some additional thoughts. He hasn’t shipped in full yet, so if you dig him hit Threezero direct or our sponsors below to snag your copy!

WTF @ TFW Podcast Episode 624 Now Online

Threezero DLX Jetfire In-Hand Gallery
Taking a look today at another Threezero Transformers piece – DLX scale Revenge of the Fallen Jetfire. This is their mid scale tier, standing at about 15 inches tall and a whopping 65 points of articulation. In addition, he comes apart into many (many many) pieces in order to combine with the previously released Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime to make Jetpower Optimus Prime. I’ve had this guy in hand a bit and want to thank Threezero for their patience as I handled some things and finally got the gallery done. On the other hand, he is now shipping globally so if you dig what you see you can grab him now! Check our sponsors below, then read on for some quick thoughts and about 70 HD Images!

WTF @ TFW Podcast Episode 623 Now Online
It’s a bag-rustlin’ good ol’ time this episode of WTF @ TFW! Vangelus tackles a potential cryptid outbreak amidst a Trampoline Battle Royale, Aaron has the biggest possible acquisition (with absolutely zero stress whatsoever!) and TJ’s lawyers wish to remind you that no children were harmed in the aforementioned Trampoline Battle Royale. Also that it’s time to talk about Velocitron, I guess. Nothing major.

The Egg Council has gotten to the podcast, but WTF @ TFW has a bunch of acquisitions to inquisition about! Aaron scrambles to talk about the Wreck N Rule Collection, TJ fries up some thoughts about the Rider Pain Index, and Vangelus comes out of his shell to make sure the episode isn’t over easy.

Threezero Transformers: Bumblebee Premium Optimus Prime Gallery
Taking an in-hand look at the recent Premium Scale release from ThreeZero for Transformers Bumblebee Optimus Prime. This is the larger size line, not to be confused with the also-awesome DLX scale figures which are smaller in scale and price. Premium are the big boys, meant to be centerpieces of your display. He faithfully represents Optimus’ look from the 2018 Bumblebee movie, in both his Cybertron and Earth modes due to interchangeable parts. Lights are present in the eyes and the blaster, plus he sports 140 (yes, 140) points of articulation. Every part is touched with high end paint and weathering, so he looks like he popped right off the screen and is sitting in front of you once in hand.
This is a review copy (thanks to ThreeZero for sending it through), so things may change a bit for final release. Optimus should be shipping soon, with expected delivery dates in Q3 2022 (though that can change). If you are still on the fence with him, some of our sponsors below still have him available to order.
