Some interesting news comes to us tonight from a mysterious listing on Walmart’s site, one for a “TRA GEN STUDIO SERIES LDR 86 Grimlck WHE.” While that’s unfortunately all the information we have alongside a UPC number discovered by board member Nevermore and confirmed by Jtprime17, it certainly opens up a great deal of questions regarding the future of the Studio Series line especially considering the 35th anniversary of the 1986 movie is just on the horizon.
Will this just be a repaint? Could this be something more? Could we see more Dinobots or other characters? And what’s the WHE part? Your guess is as good as ours, but for now be sure to join the discussion and share your thoughts, theories, and speculations on this listing and stay tuned to TFW for further updates!

Since this is a highly anticipated figure and we haven’t heard anything about it in a while nor seen an image, closing this thread for now. This may be reopened when new info/images surface or the discussion may be continued in a new/different thread.

Yeah, not following that one. Someone bumped a thread and people thought there might be some news. It's understandable that someone wluld be upset by that since conversation long died in this thread. Hell, the whole reason I came in here was due to seeing it back on the first page and thought there was some news on Grimlock. So, really not sure who's whinging in this thread.

whose the g1 whiner, the guys whose upset a thread been bumped and yet there nothing new about the particular product this thread meant for?

Did you really just bump this particular thread just to post this comment?
No offense but I kind of want to strangle you right now.

I hope it will have a good pic.

They look good together

Unfortunately I don't believe he's for sale, the creator is Nakomake IIRC and they're just custom models he's made.

where to buy this?

The earthrise seeker is only similar to the classics seeker, the details of the actual transformation and engineering are pretty different. In addition to that the post I quoted was saying that they expected hasbro to rerelease the MP figures as studio series, which there is no precedent for

Guys it isnt g1 grimlock its NBE 08 from the old ARG game
Laser_Optimus
Yeah, I think that figure could have been good if a lot of it wasn't hampered by the need to incorporate a combiner gimmick. He also needed bigger "wings" in robot mode… they should be easily visible from the front, but the PotP version's were barely noticeable. Though he'd need to be a little bit taller to fit in with the current line.
Shin Densetsu
I'm fine with the new Grimlock(if G1 indeed) borrowing the transformation from POTP Grimlock without the tail diaper and being scaled proportionally to the rest of WFC. The transformation was the best thing about POTP Grimlock to me.
I also want integrated weapon storage somehow and the slimmer arms that the G1 toon/toy Grimlock had but no modern G1 Grimlock has.
Laser_Optimus
Honestly, I don't care how Hasbro does it as long as I have a nice G1 Grimlock that will scale with my current Transformers collection that's not hampered by gimmicks.
TFXProtector
A G1 Grimlock with full articulation is really all that's needed. Dumbing down the MP would actually be more difficult. Why Hasbro hasn't done something like this is beyond me. Adding articulation to a figure's arm, leg, even the torso must be easier than redesigning the thing from the ground up. I think the POTP figures were all new because of the combination gimmick.
Either way, the finished product will be quite the show when it's finally unveiled.
Laser_Optimus
In the case of MP Grimlock, I kind of agree with you. They could easily borrow some of the engineering from him. Compared to most modern MP's he's no bigger than a pre-WFC leader class figure and probably about as complex. I'm sure he'd have to be simplified, but you're correct that they could easily borrow the engineering. Hasbro has done this plenty of times in the past… just not from an MP before.

Earthrise Starscream / Classic Seeker mold
They upscaled and updated an old design.
They can borrow the engineering for MP Grimlock, which isnt a complicated/involved transformation like most current MPs, and put it out as a leader class.
BTW, MP Grimlock isnt that big to begin with.
Seth Sunthay
True. But i can see them re-doing blaster and perceptor.
AutoBerserk
I think you're right, the cyclonus that just leaked doesn't have all the earthrise/siege panel lines, instead it looks like the 86 movie panel lines. It might be part of a new cartoon accurate series.
