Japanese publisher Hero X has announced, via their Twitter account, a new release of the Transformers Generations Deluxe The Rebirth 35th Anniversary Version.
The “Transformers Generations book”, originally published in 2001, features an extensive amount of information and toys images of Generation 1, Generation 2, Machine Wars, Japanese and Europe exclusive releases, and great bonus material (illustrations, prototypes, etc). It was re-released in 2004 as “Transformers Generations Deluxe” adding even more extra information, sketches, and unused concepts. Even after all these years, this book is highly sought among fans, but it’s hard to find nowadays.
Now it’s your chance to add this amazing book into your library. Hero-X is going to publish this book one more time after so long. While the title is sure long and different, it seems this will be just a reprint of the “Transformers Generations Deluxe” book. Price will be 2800 yen ($25.00) plus tax, but we are yet to wait for a listing.

Mine arrived today from Sakura Japan, a Korean site that buys off from Japanese shopping sites. 3214 Yen in addition to 350 Yen shipping, a 1300 yen weight fee, a 500 inspection fee, and a 1000 agency fee for a total of about 68000 KRW. Probably not the best price, but the only option I saw fit as my home address does not directly work with Amazon Japan.

My Amazon JP order arrived via DHL today. Nice to finally have a copy of this. I had about given up on it until it randomly reappeared at Amazon. I had even checked the Japanese book shops in NYC, but they were out of stock or were charging too much to order one.

For those who got their copies, how much did you pay with shipping? I'm considering getting it from sakurajapan.co.kr, through which you can buy from from Japanese sites. I made a first transaction for a copy from Amazon Japan for 3024 Yen, plus 1500 for packaging. (58,000 KRW) . Now they're asking for an additional 3300 Yen shipping fee. Is is worth seeing it through and paying over 90,000 KRW total for a 160-page foreign picture guidebook?

I've been looking ever since Amazon.jp sold out directly and haven't found any that weren't overly expensive, unfortunately. Those were a few sites in Singapore and a couple of Japanese bookshops with an online presence. All made the third-party sellers look cheap by comparison when not sold out. The hunt for something affordable to ship to NYC continues for me…

Looks like Amazon jp only has marketplace options now – roughly 3800 yen with delivery. Any other options available?

As much as I would love to order it, Amazon Japan does not ship to South Korea… No other Korean shopping sites have it either. I'm making a personal-use Korean Transformers scrapbook guidebook and this would have been a great addition.

Got my copy. What an amazing book. It's like the ultimate version of the old checklist pamphlets the G1 toys came with (albeit in Japanese of course.) Perhaps best of all, it even includes the animation models (uncolored) from the cartoons! I didn't expect that.
Definitely the nostalgia trip I was hoping for.

Just received my copy – hope everyone receives it in exemplary condition as I did.

These are far better than the Bellomo book I have. IIRC he only covers North American toys in his, and there's a few mistakes in the Bellomo book I have. The only way the Bellomo book wins is by having English text.
For my money Generations is THE definitive text on G1 toys.
Inciteful
Amazon Japan has a few left in stock as of this post for those interested.

Will this be restocking on AJP or is my best bet to purchase from a seller on AJP?

I’m curious will Amazon itself get this back in? Or would I be better off with the aftermarket sellers?
Thundershot
Mine just shipped from Amazon Japan.

I bought this on Amazon but not directly from Amazon JP. Is it something I should worry about or will I get a smooth transaction anyway?
