Over the last couple of weeks, store listings have been cropping up for the Transformers Siege line, with some interesting listings which confirm that yes, there will be some Decepticons in this line after their notable absence at SDCC 2018. Midtown Comics have now added listings for the first wave of Siege toys, which name the remainder of the first wave toys by confirming a Decepticon in every size class. There are no images yet – but we bet these will be officially revealed in early October at New York Comic Con 2018, if not a bit before.
First off, there are the reveals that one could work out through educated guesswork. In the Micromaster size class, we have the Air Strike Patrol – who were also the only Decepticon patrol out of the original four Micromaster patrols in the original 1989 assortment. In the Battle Master size class, we have Targetmaster Blowpipe – partner to Generation 1 Triggerhappy, and doubtless destined to end up in the hands of Titans Return Triggerhappy toys everywhere. And in the Voyager size class, we have Megatron – because what is Optimus Prime without his age old rival? (Probably an Optimus Prime from one of those lines where Hasbro opted not to release Megatron, to be fair)
The remaining two reveals are both major fist-pump in the air, “they’re finally making this guy!” class reveals. In the Deluxe class, we have Skytread. If you don’t know the name, don’t worry – it is what Hasbro renamed Flywheels to for Titans Return. So this suggests we are getting a Flywheels to go with this year’s Battletrap – and we’d go as far as to suggest with Cog’s gimmick of splitting into two vehicles for his transformation, we just might get a fully functional Duocon out of the bargain, although individual robot modes for the components might be unlikely at the pricepoint.
Last, but by no means least. we have Shockwave. A leader class Shockwave, no less. We’d guess that he would go quite well with the other Leader class Decepticon leaders such as Combiner Wars Megatron and Starscream, and Titans Return Soundwave. We’re also betting his alternate mode will be some kind of spacecraft – possibly with wings that just happen to fold down so you can also make a “submarine” mode.
The full lineup of Siege Wave 1 toys is as follows:
- Micromaster two-packs: Race Patrol, Battle Patrol, Air Strike Patrol
- Battle Masters: Firedrive (Firebolt), Lionizer, Blowpipe
- Deluxe: Cog, Hound, Sideswipe, Skytread (Flywheels)
- Voyager: Optimus Prime, Megatron
- Leader: Ultra Magnus, Shockwave

They're taken off sold out status
Edit: oops missed that you already found out
Digger
My point exactly lol.

Heh heh
The pre-order was revised and I placed mine.
Digger
I mean skytread is probably the most anticipated figure of this line to date.

The first wave of figures went up for pre-order on BBTS, and Skytread is already sold out.

Eh, the treads are just a liability for future damage. They don't roll very nicely.
Never liked his mouth area. Upper lip was a bit too long, and the sculpted philtrum (the lip groove we have under our noses) is an odd choice because Transformers rarely, if ever, have that. Combined, the effect was that he looked vaguely simian.
Un_Chakal
yes so buy that

Basically if you leave him in the box he's the best non MP Megatron.
– He's got the best Paint job…except the legs.
– He's got working treads….WORKING TREADS…but his head is just kinda under the fender.
– He's got an awesome Tank mode…..at the expense of his shoulders and legs.
– He's got the best head sculpt…. but no ankle joints and soggy high ratchets.
He's the best and the worst. He's perfection and disappointment.
He's CW Megatron.
Digger
Yeah he looks the tits but the cannon is trash. Also those low set shoulders are ugly.

nice work. Is that United Megatron? wish i'd grabbed him back then. (ALSO Wish the Classic's mold cannon was about 1/2 as big.)
I think this helps me clarify what's bugged me about Siege Megs. Compared to most G1-styled torso Megatrons, his chest is too wide, which makes the fact his head sits a bit low seem even worse.
As with the prior conversation about his feet in alt mode, this really isn't BAD, just a noteworthy nitpick on an otherwise pretty well executed mold. Also cool to see from the comparison, he looks like he might have the best headsculpt of any Megatron toy.
Proportions wise, of all those i think i actually like the Legends/CW Leader best, but man his arm cannon is just awful. Wish Siege Megs had the tasty silver paint he has too.

That’s a lot of g r e y.

I made a little comparison picture, not for scale use

I think I had the Japanese version of this as a kid.
Was it intended to be a Micromaster base first and then used in Victory simultaneously?
I don't think Japan got all those late 80s Micromaster bases.

In the Takara Legends line at least, but there is no confirmation for him (that I know of) for a Hasbro release.

I’d like to see Storm Cloud and Visper repainted into their Shattered Glass color schemes. Visper has the same colors as the Botcon toy with Storm Cloud being the same colors in reverse, like the Siege toys are. And the two heroic Decepticons are also the heroic Autobots from Zone after travelling to the positive universe. Their combined form is called the Star Saber, to pay homage to their leader in Zone.
Un_Chakal
Dai atlas is coming out as part of his combined mode
King Glurch
We had better get these guys in part 2 or else there'll probably be a riot.
WishfulThinking
I think they'd either just give us more bot/vehicle/base figures (I still hope for Skygarry, Dia Atlas, Galaxy Shuttle, Star Convoy, Grandus, Metrotitan, etc.) or just tell us to use the basebots we've been given already.

while tigerhawk fits the aesthetic of a fuzor his origin is different. its a similar case to overlord being a duocon or the actionmaster partners being targetmasters
