It’s day 3 of Botcon 2016 and our man Bruticon has just made his rounds of the updated Combiner Wars Computron display case where Hasbro has the Technobots set up in their individual robot modes, as yesterday they were shown off in their individual vehicle modes. The set includes Scattershot, Strafe, Nosecone, Lightsteed, Afterburner, and Legends class Scrounge, all of whom combine to form Computron. We’ve already seen official images of all modes, but this new display gives us a better look at the upcoming boxset.
Check out the pics from the show after the jump!

As an avid online shopper I am ashamed I never thought to do this.
Oh, absolutely I will be! Ebay too, of course. I just wish they were releasing on their own to save my pockets. (And my wife's ire.)
Onslaught24
There may be some members who just want Hasbro Compy and will sell Scrounge, so it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on the BST forum. I'll be doing the same as I plan on getting Takara's Computron but still want Scrounge.

All of the Combiner Wars boxsets so far have shown up at Toysrus.ca and Amazon.ca for retail price (which is still super high because, Canada) and free shipping.

Quick responses all around today! (That's awesome.)
I understand, but that sucks he's a box set exclusive! I only care about that specific figure and his weapon, not the rest.
In my area of Canada I don't see too many box sets, even at TRU. (My TRU is horrible.)
Starscream 91
He will be available with Computron in a box set, I don't remember if its suppose to be a retail/toysrus or a online exclusive though.
Draznar
Thanks folks!
Is it coming to retail, or a botcon exclusive?
I've taken a big vacation from collecting and haven't had my ears to the ground in many, many months.
Rodimus Prime
Scrounge. He was Blaster's buddy and died getting evidence that Optimus and the Ark crew were still alive.
Onslaught24
Scrounge. He's from the G1 Marvel comics and turned into a wheel.

What's the name of the new not-Cosmos thing?
I'm going to need that figure.

If I want it to look like Computron I do. Likewise, you don't HAVE to buy new hands/feet. But Takara is more favorable if I need to end up "upgrading" one or the other.
MatrixOfWumbo
You don't HAVE to buy the PE torso upgrades for it.
Bountyan
I don't care about the hands and feet on the Hasbro version because it's easier and cheaper to replace hands and feet than it is to replace an entire torso, the combiner head, and two of the limb heads. And even if you do that you end up with a partforming torso, no unqiue weapons, and hands/feet that do nothing outside of combined mode unlike HFGs or PE add ons.
Haywired
Seriously, all problems with having/not having HFGs would not be here if HasTak had a collective foresight to make them a bit larger and on a wrist/ankle ball joint.
The idea was great. The execution was flawed.
Hot Shot.
I've tried to report toyswaps before and the employees cannot give a fuck. They set it aside like they'll do something about it, but it'll be right back on the peg later that day. The only option that leaves me is demanding a manager, but I don't feel like spending 20 minutes of my time trying to get garbage off the shelves when the same asshole will bring some more in the next month.
Let the trash pile up. Maybe then they'll see it's a problem.

The hands and feet are good I understand, but inconsistent with the rest of the line. While TT adds the regular ones. That too me personally ads to play-ability. Along with so many weapons that is in the set, and can combine to form his mofo blaster.
That set has it all "minus scrounge"
To me those hands and feet are not that much a must. But the scrounge figure is a bit of a sad part not to have. Yet I own the mold as cosmos already.
Still the head sculpt and its paint are nice.
Still I have less with scrounge then the technobots themselves, which is more important. Strafe, Afterburner and Nosecone look far better here. And even Lightspeed though having the Wheeljack mold still has the better head then the blunt repaint of Streetwise done in the Hasbro version.

Apologize for what, I've done nothing other than making a sarcastic remark. I fortunately dont have to put up with people who do that crap around my area. Most of the time I buy online just because they get items first. I'm sorry for people who do, but other than people who get bent out of shape over a sarcastic remark about a crap set of toys I dont owe anyone a darn thing.
Kurome
I think these figures are not on par with their takara counterparts in terms of G1 accuracy, and Takara looks more like computron to be honest. But the thing is, for my collection, this is enough. I will just stick in PE upgrades for the chest and head and I will have an almost perfect computron that is in coherence with the rest of my CW collection. So my money is on Hasbro on this one.
GGGG00
Looking at Strafe's robot mode pics, it looks suspiciously that the twin cannons are molded on and not detachable. If really so, another minus to CW Computron….

You realize that all of this came about because you joked about basically stealing parts from a box and then putting it back on the shelf for some poor kid to get stuck with?
Which is a thing, that people actually do, which really sucks?
Hint: if you want it to stop, apologize and let it go. You don't get to have the last word here – if you haven't noticed, you're just making it worse. If you didn't want to have to deal with it in the first place, reconsider making "groan worthy jokes" about doing something that your fellow collectors really frown on and experience on a regular basis (see the "not so cool things" thread in the toy discussion forum).
Also, "groan worthy jokes" is a terrible excuse. If you couldn't tell, no one thought it was a joke.
GizmoTron
You know for someone who is so concerned about others being offended by your bad jokes, you're coming off as being a bit too thin-skinned yourself.
