Third party group DX9 have updated their Facebook page with an image of a new release they are planning – an unofficial version of Generation 1 Mirage. Said to stand around 16cm in height, DX9’s Mirage is scaled with Masterpiece toys. It does, though, seem to copy portions of Hasbro’s own Classics Mirage design, with the arms and potentially the whole transformation scheme unapologetically stolen from Hasbro’s 2006 toy. Check out the image and see what you think.

got this guy in to go with my ghostbusters crossover stuff and the joints are definitely tight and the rear wheels are very odd but i think ive got them figured out. as a bummer though his left hand was broken when i pulled him out of the box. contacted the seller (johonsontony) to see if i could get a replacement hand, definitely a bummer. other thant that hes a pretty good figure, though one trick i did find is to mistransform the wheels slightly (dont rotate them all the way up) and they can be used as heel spurs to help with balance

Fenrys
I got it to go with my ghostbusters crossover mp collection, seems like a good figure overall and I can’t wait to get it
Rewind
The rear wheels can be tricky to pop in and out of place between modes. It’s not difficult, just a little different than you might expect. They kind of slide at an angle rather than straight in and out. It’s a bit hard to explain. Not sure why they are designed that way. Despite that this is still my favorite Mirage so far.

Good to know
Chareos
I've not unboxed mine yet, but the joints are supposed to be very tight

just ordered one of the clear blue versions of this guy, any issues with the mold to look out for?

I'm not sure why DX9 is reissuing Invisible. It was one of the first 3P figures I picked up and while it's not a crappy figure – IMO, it is horribly outdated and for an MP display, Sphinx decimates it. For a chug display it might be OK, even if it's still kind of outdated now.
Like others have mentioned, I don't think there is much demand as you could get him 2nd hand pretty easily for $50ish give or take $10.
TRANZ4MR
So I've had the dark blue "clear" version for a while. Outside of him being TOO dark, I rather liked him. Then I found the regular version for $50 shipped, and like him too.
I'm not a custom master in any way (tho decent), but the Dr. Frank in me is considering taking both a part, and reassembling a "vanishing" Mirage
(similar to the custom, then, show exclusive Sphinx).
Has anyone tried this with DX9's Invisible?
Were there a lot of pins? Or can I unscrew/screw, and pop pieces together easily???
QuinJester
It's a very nice toy that I sold when I got Sphinx but kind of regret letting go of now. Tempted to re-buy him.
Scurv
If it has a new head sculpt I'll bite. Like that chrome.
TCJJ
ShowZ has had a pre-order up for a bit too. Not really sure why – I didn't think there was huge demand, and Sphinx seems to be the winner hands-down. I just wish they'd do a reissue of the original version.
Maybe if DX9 reissued their Crasher instead, I'd be more interested.
DogFriedRice
Would only make sense of they reissue with a new head.
evilwithin
According to tf direct this is going to be reissued in may.
It's a bit weird. They should have done it before MMC announced the new version of Sphinx..
GR1ML0CK
I consider it the best Crasher. Love the colors on that
TheWarPathGuy
Would you consider this the best mirage?
Wheeljoker
Both of the stealth versions are pretty cool but I do wish they'd have done an all clear version.

Hey so where did most of you get Sphinx? I am looking at the perfection release and I see him on TFS for $99, but I wonder if I can get a better deal at Showz. I messaged them because they don't have it listed on their preorders. I am also looking at the Stealth one pre-owned, but he isn't truly see thru. I mean, they could have designed him more like ghost Starscream and give him a true see thru body. My opinion
TheWarPathGuy
Thanks for letting me know! He isn't a character I care about, but I am buying season 1 and 2 autobots I like.
Rewind
That’s less than what I paid back when it was released and I’ve never regretted it. He’s still one of my favorite car bots. The transformation is so fluid and fun, its downright therapeutic. The construction is so solid, too.
