2005 boards leader has chimed in with information about an all new upcoming figure for Transformers 3 Dark Of The Moon, Ultimate Optimus Prime!
No pic butMovie 3 features Optimus Prime driving into battle with his weapon trailer! Trailer converts into mech suit that powers up Optimus Prime. Try me packaging with light and sound. Optimus Prime has several ports to armor up with mechtech weapons from other characters
Not suitable for under 5 years old
2 per carton which means it’s at the devastator price point if history repeats itself.
Will this figure surpass the Dark Of The Moon Voyager Optimus Prime that we’ve been seeing recently, and be on par if not better, than the renowned Revenge Of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime?
Fort Max
Now that is definitely nothing even close to what I was imagining.
Initial reaction is bad but it could grow on me.
Onslaught Phase 2
FYI, the Ultimate Prime has been revealed!
io9. We come from the future.
Based on design sketches from ROTF of prime combining with a trailer, I had a very different image in my mind. Disappointing to me
Though I hope it looks sick in the movie!

I'm just assuming that the Voyager Prime will be available with or without a trailer. I don't expect a leader figure to have a trailer… Also, didn't the listing for the Prime with trailer say "voyager+"?

Unless Optimus has two upgrades in the 3rd Movie we can now see in the pre-Movie-Trailer that Optimus upgrade consists of less that it did with Jetfire it's just a jet assisted wing pack and a couple of fore-arm weapons (made out of that odd looking accesssory object/vehicle seen on set). It does not even look like his legs are changed at all.
But who knows perhaps the space themed Optimus Voyager is movie acurate and he does have other changes perhaps he has differences for space flight and atmospheric flight.
Anyway the Cyberverse Plus Optimus seems to match the one in the super bowl advert.
Put I was wondering if the reason there's multiple Optimus toys is because he has more than one look in the 3rd movie.

Who knows, we might be pleasantly surprised, but at this point it seems unlikely.
Fort Max
Bit of a bummer if so, I was really hoping for some kind of power master homage armour.

Judging from the TV spot, my guess is that we will get a base OP figure (either new or remolded RotF leader), the jetpack thing that he combines with (and which could hide out in the trailer), and finally the trailer itself that will probably convert into some gimmick-loaded battle station. I'd be okay with that.

The destruction of talking robots is almost of necessity far more casual in an action film than in an animated family television program.
The only reason for anyone to bat an eye is that the "Transformers" brand is currently associated with both action movies and family television. Which is a cheering reflection of brand flexibility, rather than some sort of worrying indictment of American culture (believe me, there are plenty of those without getting worked up over the "murder" of bad robots who, themselves, murder dozens of humans onscreen).
We Godzilla fans have dealt with tone whiplashing from film to film since, well, the early 1960s. It's a brand strength, not brand weakness, both in box office receipts and artistic achievement. Transformers simply has found room to grow far beyond any single person's set of expectations, such that it's basically impossible for us not to all have "personal canon" and not accept everything in all franchises. Just as no two Godzilla fans have the same interpretation of the monster. It's too big.
Even in the 1980s, the idea of, say, dropping human beings out of planes and "catching" them unharmed with other planes was acceptable in one medium (toon) and not in another (comics).

Ultimate BB is a head taller than Supreme Primus, same height as Supreme SS. But at a $100 tag ( due to the electronics and moving parts)

*Stops smacking head* Actually, I missed out on ROTF Prime and got HFTD Prime to fill the void, but now that I think about it, I can use HFTD Prime to combine with Jetfire and still get Ultimate Prime.
I'm feeling kinda' woozy now, i'm going to lie down… *Wipes blood from head*

ultimate prime so far is the only figure i cant wait to see, lets hope he wont be the fiasco devastator was

I was talking about both movies, the 2 year old one and the 4 year old one.
I still think Batman Forever was a bad movie, and it's a 16 year old movie. This is the internet. Life goes on.
blue death
People seriously still complain about this? Get over it. Its a movie. At this point an almost 2 year old movie. It was offensive, sure, to an extant. But I mean I think as a collective most fans have gotten over it.
Bumblethumper
This is my main objection to the Bay movies. I find it every bit as distasteful as the bad jokes, if not moreso. I'd explain further, but it gets political.
Ribieconvoy
It's an action movie. They're robots. The whole point of them being robots is that they can get away with more violence than if they were humans. It's just a summer action flick, calm down
Now, who wants to bet Hasbro will mold that entire shiny trailer in bland grey plastic and not put a lick of chrome or silver paint on it? That being said, I will definitely be getting it if the sculpt and engineering are decent.
Shizuka
OR, they can give us Unite for Universe Optimus. Anyway, I have a feeling that though we may get ROTF leader Prime but with less paint. In fact I doubt we will get the Buster mold because they want to "cut cost". I think that Hasbro forgets that Transformers are for TF collectors as well as kids and collectors want a high quality product. I guess we can't with today's economy.
Radioactive Ravage
Raging complete.

Smaller than Supreme, but bigger than Leader. Look up Ultimate Bumblebee on Youtube.
About the toy, I'm gonna pass. I already have Leader Prime from ROTF, who, IMHO, is the best Movie Prime made yet.
Bumblethumper
Well they certainly can be attention-grabbers at the head of an aisle or on the top shelf. A status symbol for major toylines. It was hard to miss the TF section with Fort Max as a giant landmark.
I suspect they can be a bit of a gamble though. Every toyline hopes for that big must-have christmas toy, so either they make out like bandits, or they're stuck with a warehouse full of unsellable Roll Out Command Primes.
Deonasis
I hope this won't be a giant Legends figure like Devastator was.
