TFCToy has listed an auction on Ebay for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Voygaer Class Grindor. Grindor is a slightly reworked version of Blackout from the 2007 Movie line, who still comes with Blackout’s minion Scorponok – but he appears to have a slightly different head compared to the original Blackout and his remold Evac. Check out the auction by clicking on the link above, or the images by clicking on the title of this story for our mirror.

that deco looks really good on that mold would be better with some retooling though

I don't think so. The guy who posted the comic adaptation spoilers mentioned Blackout, but he didn't say it was named as such in the comic. If you saw a Pave Low in the comics you'd probably tell somebody you saw Blackout too, but we have no confirmation that it's the same bot.
I will wait for proof either way, but I'm leaning towards Iceburn's suggestion that Blackout is dead and that Grindor is in the film and just happens to share an alt mode/model with Blackout due to lazy filmmaking.
It's the logical suggestion, given what we know: Blackout certainly died; the chopper who looks like him is never named as such in the novelisation, which would be odd as they would certainly mention a well-known returning bot; there is no mention of Blackout being resurrected when Megs is in any literature at all; and there is a repaint of his figure in multiple size classes with the name Grindor.
Not to mention, the ROTF game lists Grindor as a playable character…

Does this mean the bot in the clips and trailer is not blackout?
Switchblade
My guess is that it really is Blackout, they just let Armada Optimus Prime do the packaging.

Well maybe Blackout and Grindor are around at the same time, Blackout in the movie and novel while Grindor is an off-screen character who gets a repaint of the Blackout toy instead of Blackout being repainted into himself.
People are more likely to buy a repaint of a mold they already own if its characterised as someone else instead of being a new color scheme for the original character.

Yay confusion.
Shin Densetsu
The comic adaptation has him as Blackout.

I'm inclined to believe Grindor will be in the movie.
In the official novelization,
, exactly like the scene in the trailers.
Thus, putting 2 and 2 together, it would seem logical that the Blackout-like bot we saw alongside Megatron and Starscream is Grindor. I doubt they would name their toys Grindor if that's not his real name in the movie (a repeat of the Brawl-Devastator faux pas notwhistanding).

the new "Blackout" is much better of the first voyager design…..or paint
the minion scorponok is equal to the deluxe repaint….coool, love scorponok in black
I want!!!!
shit!!!!a one month more!!!!!!!!
Smokescreen
Looks nice, but I planned on getting the Whirl repaint so I may pass on him.
Shin Densetsu
Grrarr…………man….I was really, really hoping for a new figure, not a repaint! Ah man. Blackout was the best looking voyager from TF1 but the worst voyager figure overall.
Emperor Zarak
so…..he's suffering from the seeker syndrome? not that there's anything wrong with it…..heck I might pick him up if I have the money
Nemesis_Dirge
he looks like a cheap sun faded version of the orignial….pass
Beastbot X
I think that's yet another redeco of Blackout, probably for a store exclusive. It looks a bit too different from this to be the same paint job under different lighting, methinks.
Yeah, this is… really confusing.
Eric
Interesting. I'm definitely getting him!
Bgrngod
I knew Blackout looked like he was the wrong color in the trailers we've seen.
Blackout is dead. Long live Grindor?
Moy
nice toy, wonder if Blackout has a brother like Barricade? (very unlikely)
butz
Is it just me, or does he look little more bluish (or at least less sand colored) than the pics we saw before??
Solrac333
Looks nice but I think I am avoiding repaints/molds this time around.
butz
Damn. Oh well, I might still get it just because this looks like the best paint scheme on that mold. But I'm not going to be calling him Grindor… I really hope thats not what he's called in the movie.
