2005 Boards member GenZhao brings us this extensive gallery of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Class Desert Blast Brawl. This desert camo repaint is shown off from every major angle and in full detail. There are also extensive comparison images, showing the new toy alongside his original 2007 Movie toy, and other prolific tank Transformers from the line’s history. Check out the full gallery by clicking on the title bar.
And yes, for those wondering, according to GenZhao the shoulder connections have indeed been fixed compared to the original!

Oooohhh…. what's that oversized KO Blitzwing?!
Oh, sorry. This is a Brawl's thread. Like the colors, but I'm not sure I'll go for this repaint.

Let's see… could be a toy only appearance. I mean, we know Bonecrusher and Jazz died as well right? Well, ever read the bios for the Jungle Bonecrusher or G1 Jazz repaints? It makes mention of them surviving and being rebuilt. Basically, as always, the toy fiction does not match the actual show/movie canon, because they have to be able to market repaints. So, if this ends up being called Deep Desert Brawl or something like that… I fully expect for his bio to say something about him being rebuilt after the battle at Mission City.
Also, we could have a case like the green version of Wreckage (though with Brawl I doubt it as most of the characters from the actual movie itself received thematic repaints save Bumblebee and Starscream) where it turns out to be named a completely different character as well.
Long story short… Hasbro will do what they please and come up with bios accordingly to market their repaints no matter what happened in the actual marketed fiction.

Just as good a chance as any that he's not Brawl, same way green Wreckage ended up being Bludgeon instead. Although, being in the first movie, his appearance is rather distinctive… figure it could go either way.

You hurt my feelings with these words. I mourn Brawl's death still. He was so awesome…I don't have the words to express my overflowing love for his green Leader figure. Brawl is what movie Megatron should have been. Just switch out his head for a Megatron-esque bucket head, and you're done.
But noooo…
If they released the green camo Leader figure again in a "premium" deco, I would buy it all over again. Leader Brawl was, in my opinion, the best mold of the 2007 movie line, and one of the best Leaders ever released. Yeah, that includes Leader Prime, who is awesome, but Brawl is even better.
But if this deluxe were released in the correct green camo scheme again, with the fixed tabs, then I would buy it again. I personally love this mold, in spite of the tab issues.
But as it stands, in this color…no. Just no.
They are bleeding the mold of a long-dead character…he won't even be in a flashback sequence, I am sure.
An easy pass.

but he's dead. How can he be ROTF brawl?

If the shoulders are fixed fixed then I'm in and may take the further stupid step os fnapping up Leader Desert BRawl so I cna have forest brawl leader and deluxe posed next to desert brawl leader and deluxe (I may even get the FABS as well then…)
SilverDragon
Aww, they didn't make his shoulders any better. I think I might skip this guy.
SoundMaster
I love it!
Gadep
so are you going to have these for sale…what are they going to run with shipping to the US…cause if the shoulders are fixed…It's on like Donkey Kong…
Deceptigtar
yuck!

Pass for me. I've already got the Leader version. Although, I wish the deluxe Desert Brawl had come out originally. I could've saved some money on a cheaper size class.
Skylock
Those are some great comparison shots. As a deluxe, I feel the original color scheme fits better, and the Deep Desert for the Leader class.
iheartarcee
i like this deco of brawl. I have the leader version painted up like this and its one of my favorite movie toys
but this mold, not so much
Laser_Optimus
Yeah, that's exactly what I was asking and that's great news!
Thanks, that means I'll be picking this version of Brawl up for sure!
Nutcrusher
What about the plastic gears for the automorph feature? The last one had brittle clear plastic that broke after a couple of use. What about this one?
Sol Fury
Added that to the FP, that's excellent news in and of itself!
GenZhao
when you say fix the arms, do you mean did they make the connection from the shoulders to the side of the body tight?
and if that is the case, yes, they fixed the shoulders. My video review should be online in the next 24 hours and I talked about that in it.
Solrac333
Did they run out of brown plastic to use for the tabs? PASS.

I personally think it looks pretty good in those colors, and I am pretty suprised how much I like it. The lighter colors make some of his details pop a bit more than the original. Now will I buy another one? Probably not. My only hope is that it looks good enough to keep it from being a pegwarmer all summer. That is my only fear of having too many repaints from the first line, we don't want to get Payloaded by multiple figures this year.
