Transformers: Requiem of the Wreckers
Nick Roche (w) • Nick Roche, Guido Guidi, & Geoff Senior (a)
Wreck & Rule! They’ve been beaten up, torn apart, betrayed, and had their sins revealed. The few remaining Wreckers are more lost and lonelier than they’ve ever been, which makes it the perfect time for them to come under fire from an anti-Cybertronian campaigner and an old foe! Remember them fondly, because this is the “Requiem of the Wreckers.”

Ongoing stories lead to declining numbers just as much as shared universes
BB Shockwave
Interesting art style for the meeting with Impactor, reminds me of some Marvel UK comics (fittingly enough).

I'll be honest: I didn't read that preview, but…DAMN!! My favorite Transformers artist of all time (with work that looks as good as when he was in his prime) and another TOP 3 Transformers artist?
Yeah. I'll buy that.
Hans
That's definitely how I feel about it, though.
I wish! that would actually make me buy it…

Notice Guido was changed for doing artwork for the issue from the original listing. Maybe Guido is too busy with working on IDW art for the relaunch?
ScientistMan
It's ironic. Roche always finds himself writing around Kup. Either resurrecting him or sending him off.
fishpop
That retro Marvel Era-styled art is a nice treat.

Geoff Senior is fucking rocking this. I already liked his stuff, but the way he draws Kup is spectacular.
Focksbot
I liked the character redesigns and was looking forward to it. Two of my favorite childhood properties in a crossover? Get in!
Unfortunately, it was utter turnips.
Lumpy
That’s out tomorrow right?
Rodimus Prime
If IDW were smart, they would avoid copying things that have helped lead to their declining numbers.
omegafix
Never could stomach Senior's work
Mattymo
No it’s not that it’s just the fact that he died in a book nobody wanted and didn’t give it a fair read.
Seriously, visionaries vs transformers died before the first issue because people hated the hasbro-verse and didn’t give it a fair shot. Opinions were made long before anything.
Anyone can argue and say I’m wrong but the last 2 years of threads is proof enough.
I didn’t mind the miniseries it was fine. I wasn’t one of thebelly achers

To be fair, how many comics in the last 10 years – either licensed or mainstream like Marvel/DC – exist where the death is handled better in the death issue itself then in an ancillary book from a writer that cared about the character? I mean, half of the time what happens is you get an editorially mandated death in one series and then the creator that actually had some attachment to the character writes a "fill in the blanks" issue…which is pretty much what happened here too!
optimusmegas
well……unpopular opinion of the day…..
that old marvel uk art is still ugly as hell after all these years. senior's updated the detail but the way he draws some awkward shots like springer's kick is still present.
oh well…time to dig out nostalgia glasses for his pages i suppose.

Senior\'s art makes my heart swell.
Sockie
Oh man, it's so great to see Senior's art again. I especially love that close-up on Kup.
Rodimus Prime
TFW Kup's death is handled better in a side story than the issue where he actually died.
Novaburnhilde
Dat Senior art.
Absolutely lovely.
Nevermore
Yaaaaay! Geoff Senior!
One of my all-time favorite Transformers artists.
