TFW member and Ozformers administrator Griffin-of-Oz dropped us a line to let us know about some new DVD box sets which are appearing at Australian retail from Beyond Home Entertainment.
Found in the Australian K-Mart stores (no relation to the US chain of the same name), there are two different Rescue Bots season 1 DVD box sets on offer. The first, priced at a mere $13AU, has all five DVDs of the first season of Rescue Bots and is the only set to offer this (previous Australian DVD sets offered through JB HiFi only contained four out of the five individually released disks). The second, like the aforementioned JB HiFi set, only has the four DVDs covering the first 21 episodes of the show, but comes with a nice metal moneybox tin.
Lastly, there is also a set out for the first season of Robots in Disguise. Both JB HiFi and K-Mart have full season box sets of the newest Transformers TV show, both priced at $49AU, but the K-Mart one comes with a rather spiffy extra in the form of a POP Vinyl Optimus Prime.
Please note that if you want to import these, you will need a region free DVD player. There has presently been no news suggesting that Shout! will offer full season DVD or Blu Ray sets, so right now for the fan who wants to enjoy these shows in their entirety on DVD, importing is the way to go.

Why oh Why won't they do this in the US? It's just not fair!

I contacted JB HIFI to see if they will stock the Rescue Bots DVD complete Season One. If they do, they ship international.
SeanTF1967
I really need one of these, the complete season one. I could care less for the four pack one.

I'm jealous. Wish we had them here in the States. Would think the TF series about to take the top episode count of all the different TF series would get season sets. Then again, I still have to import the 2001/2002 RiD since I doubt we'll ever get our release of that either.

I just found out that Kmart does not ship internationally Of course I did find this on EBay and according to the seller, they have 10 copies. Also you have to pay through PayPal.
Reask
O_O God I need a region free DVD player.

Wow, a complete box set for RB?! Never thought I'd see the day…
SeanTF1967
I need that Rescue Bots Set, but the only question is, how? I am hoping JBHIFI brings it online or I'll have to buy it from someone…

I can't believe an actual complete season box set?

Awesome. I need to add RID to my DVD collection as soon as possible.
SeanTF1967
Also, someone should contact Beyond to ask if this will be a Kmart exclusive or not.

FINALLY!!!! Griffin, if you can find the complete one on JBHIFI I will be happy.

One of our major retailers (Kmart – not related to the American Kmart), have just stocked in time for Christmas, three new DVD boxsets from Beyond Entertainment… and one is a complete Season One DVD set for Rescue Bots (the previous Rescue Bots boxset that came out in May only had the first 21 episodes).
I found these boxsets today and some or all might be Kmart exclusives as I haven't heard of any of them being sighted anywhere else yet.
Complete season one of Rescue Bots (all 5 volumes – not just 4 like in the JB Hifi boxset) – AU$13! Yes… $13 (about US$9). Cheaper than a single full-priced volume here. It would cost AU$50-100 to buy the five individual volumes, but right now in Kmart, you can get it all for just $13.
(there were two shelf tags for these with the same product details and barcode, but one had $16 on it – the box scans up for $13 though, but even $16 is amazingly cheap)
.
Collectors moneybox tin Rescue Bots (only the first 4 volumes – like the JB Hifi boxset) – AU$20. (about US$14)
That's AU$4 more than the JB 4-volume boxset, but these ones come in a very nice looking metal moneybox tin.
Complete Season One of Robots In Disguise with bonus Pop Vinyl Optimus – AU$49. (about US$33)
This was sighted by another person at Ozformers about a week ago, so I'm grouping it with the other two DVD boxsets I found today.
The JB Hifi "exclusive" boxset has no bonus items and it was AU$49 as well.
.
Kmart certainly got some great deals from Beyond Entertainment on these…. or DVDs are now getting so out-dated by Blurays, they cost peanuts to produce and sell now.
At least being stocked in one of our biggest retailers should boost sales enough to see every future episode of RID & RB released for us to collect (hopefully).
The previous boxsets that were released earlier this year at JB Hifi as their exclusives, for comparison…
