Once again, 2005 Board member D-Drive has been kind enough to share with us the Diamond Comics shipping list for next Wednesday, September 23rd. On tap for next week for our beloved Transformers:
TRANSFORMERS WINDBLADE #7 (also shipping subscription & 1-in-10 variants)

WINDBLADE and STARSCREAM race to claim the lost colony lead by the mysterious ELITA ONE! But who will recruit the brutal army so long removed from CYBERTRON-and can ELITA’s forces bring anything home… but war?
Spunky
I don't understand why everyone's so upset about Elita being turned into a one-dimensional psychopath. That's already what's been done to Optimus.
Autovolt 127
Exactly the problem.
Yeah I agree. It feels too much like they're making the Autobot way too worse which is like I feel goes against how things are supposed to be. I like the idea that the Autobots aren't perfect and squeaky clean but this is starting to get out of hand.
Newholl
I hate that these are still classified as G1 comics.
WinstoBot
I hate this IDW trend of turning our old good guys into worst than bad guys and old bad guys into misunderstood freedom fighters.
Nocturne
I'm getting more of a Barbarian ruler vibe off of her rather than an 'insane' tyrant.
BB Shockwave
And Prowl. At this rate, unless they reveal the Prowl of the last 3-4 years of (not anymore)RID was actually Makeshift pretending to be Prowl, the character is basically irredeemeble.
Arcee was just an unhinged genetic experiment with Furman, but Barber turned her into this sadistic badass who can kill anyone, doesn't flinch from danger because she always gets out of EVERY situation, can casually kill important Cons left and right, and even seems to be able to stand toe to toe with Galvatron – the same half-undead guy who once almost unmade the universe (oh forgot, they retcon Galvy every 3 years nowadays – anyone even remember Heart of Darkness anymore?)
As much as I like MTMTE, IDW is a good example on why most comics eventually flounder and get lost in continuity issues – because the company has to replace the creative team regardless of success every 3-4 years. Marvel TF had 2 people writing it for close to 10 years, IDW had the Furman stories, then the Shane McCarthy era, then the Costa era, and now the Roberts/Barber era. Who know, maybe next year they replace them too and a new writer will try to reinvent the wheel needlessly…
BB Shockwave
Sheesh, grimdark for grimdark's sake! I am seeing flashbacks to when DC decided to turn Mary Marvel into a psycho killer for no apparent reason. Here you have the chance to finally make something out of Elita, a one-note cartoon character, and what came to your mind is "unhinged murderous amazon tyrant?" Bad IDW, BAD! No treat for you.
Starscream Gaga
He wasn't actually trying to kill Megatron there either, he just let his emotions get the best of him and went overboard.
Still not a good thing though.
Murasame
I hoped to See more than one issue about Elita one.

Nah, I was speaking of Megatron. And he would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for that meddling Omega supreme. Ignore me As Springer said to Impactor after the latter had killed Squadron X, he may have deserved to die, but that wasn't something he should have done.
Sockie
Are you talking about Prowl? Because he didn't. He beat up Prowl and considered it, but he never tried to do it.
SavedTabs
We are remembering that this is the same guy who:
tried to kill a prisoner(something Impactor was sentenced to Garrus-9 for),
abandoned the Autobots during a time of crisis,
neglected to assign anyone to research the location an important prisoner requested for his own trial for any pertinent information to the situation(such as legal loopholes) before granting the plea,
installed Megatron as co-captain of a ship that isn't even technically Autobot, was bought using Drift's money, who's captain was killed by Megatron(he got better), had a Decepticn double agent friend he was forced to kill, and was once offered a place with the Decepticons before he'd joined the 'bots but declined because Megs treated prisoners poorly,
left our major antagonist Galvatron alone during a quiet stage with the Earth team to observe the anniversary of his acquisition of the matrix which the current Decepticon leader could easily be using to gain an advantage over his enemies,
kept quiet about war crimes committed by autobots against organic Decepticon allies,
left an emotionally unstable Prowl to be watched by Arcee and then blamed her when things went wrong,
beat an injured former friend in his custody before said prisoner escaped his watch,
told the dinobots that the autobots should have killed them the moment the fighting ended if they weren't willing to change their post-war outlook(and meant it), etc?
No Autobot leader is free from the jerkdom(and incompetence) IDW has threaded into their personality cores, mostly because the writers trying to set up a sympathetic narrative for the genocidal Decepticons.
None of the G1 fembots are looking good either. If they get any focus they tend to be used as the less moral prop holding up the new IDW femme characters.

…and purely through providence. Rather than through actual merit of character or deed.
AlexaStar
Shouldn't we have gotten a preview for this already?
SPLIT LIP
Oh hey, they turned a benevolent hero character- a pink dated female archtype -from an old children's franchise into a violent, maiming psycho-killer because that's what makes things edgy and different!
Just like the last time hey turned a benevolent hero character- a pink dated female archtype -from an old children's franchise into a violent, maiming psycho-killer. :I
IDW. Breaking new ground.
AshleyCuadra
True that
Newholl
That's all to compensate Megatron becoming an Autobot.
Autovolt 127
This really does bother me about IDW. They're really hitting home the idea that only Optimus Prime can be a good Autobot leader.
Lbsammills51
An ode to the movies?
Yes, because leaders are only needed during wartime.
YoungPrime
……….Why do they need one? The "war" is over.
