For our next gallery, we’re showcasing Generations Nightbeat! The Autobot sleuth makes his debut in the Generations line as a retooled Generations Bumblebee, sporting a new head and a cool blue deco.
While Nightbeat does not do anything to address the issues we have with this mold, he does bring out the very best in it. The new head and the deco really set the toy apart from the previous Bumblebee and Goldbug versions of the mold. Plus, if you want to distinguish him still further, you can use the alternate robot mode transformation Million Publishing showed off for their GoShooter which gives a more Generation 1 look, as well as evoking the feel of a trenchcoat – perfect for a gumshoe like Nightbeat.
Check out our gallery and see what you think of this new classics-style Autobot detective:

you're not the only one i love it too. i didn't get a bee or goldbug so this is my first time owning the mold. i felt it was too big for bee but then again i prefer him smaller like classics sized. i can't wait to have this figure.
Sol Fury
I did wonder why they were not sitting flush. Was given it as a gift years ago when I got into collecting vintage, never thought to check.
One more thing for the "hunt" list next time I'm at a con!

Is it fucked up that I'm a super Nightbeat fan AND this toy pleases me greatly? I wanna see what reprolabels comes up with, but he really needs a new chest panel. Silver back window maybe? Silver toe lights maybe.

Looks good, but I'm hoping that Nightbeat eventually gets his own mold.

Ya know, I have the Wheelie from the Jazz mold and I absolutely love it. I keep it mistransformed so that the legs are shorter, but otherwise it's a fun looking figure.
But I don't see using Jazz for Nightbeat. I think the BB mold is better for Nightbeat than Bumblebee- just as long as they fix the mold.

I've had mixed luck with the IDW deluxe Bee mold. First one was alright except the legs wouldn't tab together in car mode. Picked up another when Walmart dropped the deluxe class price to $10 the first time and got a pretty good one. The one Goldfire I found has very floppy knees and the legs sorta tab together in car mode. I'll get Nightbeat mainly based on the character, really wish they would have given him his own mold that could be repainted into Minerva and remolded into Siren….

Your G1 Nightbeat has the wrong guns on his helmet.

I doubt you'll ever see deluxe or voyager Generations the same size, quality and complexity that Classics, Universe 2.0, pre-IDW/pre-FOC Generations and RtS had. The plastic now is too cheap looking, they are now more hollow as well as smaller and have very basic transformations yet are more expensive. I understand markets and the cost of production going up etc. but I'd rather pay extra for the old quality rather than this – and I say that as the owner of almost very single CHUG figure up until I got the first couple of waves of FOC Generations which were just so so so so so so so bad and terrible that they put me off this entire line. Masterpieces for now give me solace

The RTS Jazz mold is a fantastic mold. But for Nightbeat? Makes as much sense a Wheelie.
This looks cool to me. It'll be my first experience with Bumblebee mold. I don't remember it being as bad as people make it out to be

Is G1 Nightbeat supposed to be lighter than the yellow on Sol Fury's? I'm just looking at the pics on Google, and it doesn't look that different, so I'm not sure lol

I have to say that Hasbro has done a lot of QC work on him, to fix the more glaring flaws with the 'Bee version of the mould. All the joints are now nice and tight, everything tabs together considerably better, and he just feels more solid, instead of the floppy mess my Bumblebee turned into.
So, yes, I'm happy with how he turned out, since I only bought the IDW Bumblebee, before they announced this guy, to turn him into, er, this guy…
unicronic
I picked this guy up and found him to be solid QC-wise and looks good in-hand. I also understand why some may skip this. 3rd time we've seen this mold in a short time span
Jigga
Man that blue really bleeds through that yellow. Probably wait for a takara version
rosewater
Other than the broken yellow stripe along the bottom of the alt mode, along with the blue chest plate, this guy is simply beautiful. The head sculpt is one of the nicest Hasbro has done in awhile, and the blue they picked is gorgeous. Hopefully I can find him once he's out there!
TFcustoms91
Nightbeast looks good new guns would have been great if Hasbro makes another recolor of Bumblebee it should be Cliffjumper.
Sky Shadow
Swindle has shoved two of his small guns in Nightbeat's ears.

my g1 night beat has diffrent head guns that is picture in your picture. where did you get those. yours it looks better
slugslinger2004
Just because the Jazz mold is a better toy doesn't make it a better fit for Nightbeat. I ordered this from HTS and plan on modding the chest if possible.
optimusmegas
they might do that…they're suppose to do minerva right?
agentSAP2006
I like how Generations Nightbeat has pretty much the same leg transformation as G1 Nightbeat.
