Just in from an eBay auction is our first look at the previously-reported Buzzworthy Bumblebee Studio Series 86 “Dying” Prowl figure.
A reuse of the previous Earthrise figure, Prowl is shown here in both his robot and car modes sporting some slight battle damage on his chest and a new facial expression.
Let us know your first impressions on the boards and stay tuned for more details.

Finally found a use for these orange blast effects. They fit on the chest and the black pegs on his forearms but not on the white pegs on the shoulders. Don't think I have the skills or tools to cut one so it fits in his mouth.

This is the item for those wondering.

I’ve had that also happen as well before, always comes the next day

You sure they didn't drop it with USPS for fulfillment? I get that with Target orders a lot. It'll say delivered as it was handed off to USPS and show up a day later.
JasonTFW
Excited to get this but of course UPS claimed they delivered it from Target even though they never actually did (I was home all day). Now it's sold out, ugh.

I just yanked both heads off, and the Seige head didn't seem overly tight on ER's neck so I just left it as-is.

So how does one do the headswap between Siege Prowl and ER Prowl? Is it just a case of heating up and popping off?
I did that and the Siege head is a touch tight on the ER ball-peg and the lack of screws in the head makes me feel that eventually the places where the head are glued will just split apart.
Sunbow Prime
Yes. My guess is that those that missed the Amazon-exclusive one and want a regular G1 cartoon Prowl are fucked for at least the next three years.

Oh the PTSD, that's the origin of my Love/Hate relationship with Hasbro. S1/S2 Bots still lives in my heart (head?).

I firmly prefer translucent windows. I’d rather have a chance of a figure eventually breaking than one that is guaranteed to always look uglier on display. If SS86 Ratchet comes out and they give it painted windows, I’m selling my SS86 Ironhide.

So basically sublines and subgenres mean nothing anymore?
With this bit of absurdity I'm out. Enjoy whatever this… fixation over clear plastic is. I'm done wasting my time.
Currywurst
Citation needed.
It's been about updating classic designs so much that the Generations line has been steadily aiming for increasing toon-accuracy as demanded by an increasing number of fans.
Personally, I prefer clear or tinted plastic windows. But I'm not fussed about it
What does bother me is when one single figure out of a group of related characters stands out by having painted windows. Like SS86 Kup.
Big Mo
Exactly. Studio Series is part of the Generations line which means CHUG will include SS too.
Hence all new Movie & Video Game figures released in SS will fall under that classification
Revan1307
All generations is chug including movie figures
Q Prime
Not particularly, but Hunt for the Decepticons and Reveal the Shield aren’t technically under the CHUG banner. And even if they would be, the movie style stuff fits with other movie figures and the G1 inspired figures fit with other G1 update releases at the time, so much so that several of them were used in people’s collections right up until the WFC trilogy.
Heck, if we go with the narrative that SS G1 stuff doesn’t have the same design sensibilities as WFC/Legacy G1 stuff, the likes of Prowl and Brawn are odd ones out among almost every other SS86 release. All the way from early stuff like Hot Rod and Jazz to even last year’s SS86 releases like Ironhide and Perceptor, clear plastic windows are the prevalent design aesthetic. That is a fact.
G1Prowl
Meant to go with DOES NOT EQUAL same design sensibilities. Look at all those Bayverse garbage figs that were thrown between lines in the early 2010s, would you say those were designed with the Generations sensibilities? I hardly think so, but some daft packaging rules have gotten several collectors to think so. To the point that PCC was considered CHUG when it was clearly not.
Your preferences aren't facts.

Yeah, the current budget requirements of brittle clear plastic as full roof sections is a huge bummer, but nothings tackier looking on alt modes then solid bright baby blue windows, ruins the whole figure for me.
Q Prime
Movie or not, it’s still meant to go with other Generations figures as has been stated by the design team, and the solid baby blue windows stand out like a sore thumb. My biggest dislike of Brawn also. And as I stated earlier, the cartoon designs the movie used had shading specifically meant to show that the windows are supposed to be clear but aren’t for ease of animation. Properly being slavish to it would be incorporating that into the design rather than doing it as a flat colour.
G1Prowl
It's not the main Generations line, though. It's a slavish line dedicated to the films, and now apparently the video games. The WFC lines were the main Generations line.
Q Prime
Studio Series is Generations.
