Continuing our string of comic news this evening, Alex Milne has taken to his Twitter to post the cover for Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #46, colored by Josh Perez and featuring none other than the king himself, Grimlock! We’d previously gotten a glimpse at this cover a little while ago in our SDCC 2015 IDW panel coverage, but this gives us a far better look at it.
Check it out and let us know what you think of it after the jump!

Cool cover

Well yes, the author made sure to show that these likable kooks are still pretty murderous. Compared to Shockwave, these seem like ok guys. If my desire of Grimlock not giving a shit anymore were true, these guys wouldn't even rate for him.
Starscream Gaga
They're pretty awful, really. They murdered that Autobot after lighting his body on fire and when their friend was violently slaughtered they took all of three seconds mourning before looting his body.
Autoboty
Grimlock relieved by Shockwave's death? Nah, he'd probably be super pissed he wasn't around to kill him himself.

I'd love to find out his cognitive abilities came back shortly after the DJD fight and he actually just doesn't give a shit anymore. The Scavengers seem like ok guys, so he's just laying low.

I am thinking that Grimlock and the Scavengers will go after all the guys that have been jerks (Scorponok, Ultra Magnus, Megatron) to Grimlock in issues 45 and 46. Grimlock will probably be so relieved that Shockwave has finally died. And then Grimlock and the others will probably go after Starscream and Galvatron, because they are jerks by nature

Awesome!
Concerning how Grimlock might regard the Scavengers by this time: Seeing how a cover for issue 45 features just those 'Cons and 46 here just has Grimlock, maybe it's a two-part story featuring the group, with the respective cover noting each issue's main players/perspective?

In his current state he seems nearly as harmless as kitten in that he might only lash out if startled but not his usual self and he seems hardly aware of anything let alone faction symbols so you are correct he isn't going be killing no Scavengers like this. What I was placing my theory on was if he somehow got his wits back to his pre prison state.
He probably did receive some physical torture under overlord but it seems more like the mental side of things that happened that drove him into this state. Who knows if, when or what could bring him back around. It doesn't look like the scavengers are keeping much sercurity on him. Telling stories helped Rung back and those Scavengers seem like a talkative bunch, maybe it's only a matter of time?

Problem is I don't think Grimlock is recognizing the faction symbols any more. If Grimlock sees the faction symbol the Scavengers would had been dead long a go. Ultra Magnus, Grimlock would be attacking the mech that put him in the hell hole of a prison. It is far easier to remember Ultra Magnus as the source of the pain than it is easier to see UM is an Autobot and being the same faction as he is.

Yeah sure he strikes me as the kind to hold a grudge list with nearly everyone on it including Ultra Magnus but bar his fellow Dinobots obviously but he doesn't strike me as the type to prioritise. I see Grimlock especially under Furman as a vengeful evil must be punished type who resents Optimus for not going far enough (busting his balls in action jargon) in countering the Decepticons (ironically I think he would love movie Optimus). Depending on whether he was aware during his time in the "me Grimlock" state could change whether he views them as straight up enemy or war criminals awaiting his post war judgment. either way I don't think it bodes well for those likeable scavengers.
Also his experience in jail that drove him into that state might make him in a pretty unforgiving of Decepticons mood. This could be very sad but interesting in getting the viewer to morally question the moral greys of someone who has such absolute views of right and wrong and applies it strictly to a morally complicated world.
Also after if he rendezvous with the Lost Light him meeting Megatron, Ultra Magnus and co could be interesting.

Ultra Magnus sent Grimlock to Garrus 9 where he was shown in the Last Stand of the Wreckers.
Murasame
Why ultra magnus?
WilyMech
Actually Grimlock wouldn't mind destroying Ultra Magnus before the Scavengers. That is where his main Grudge is going to be. The Scavengers most likely consider not being worth his time.

Got a horrible sinking feeling that it's going to be the Scavengers. If he was to revert to his old self the most striking thing about his IDW characterisation is his ability to hold grudges against folk like Shockwave and Scorponock so if he was to revert to his brooding uncompromising badass self he would likely murder Decepticons holding him captive on site. Hope this doesn't happen as my feelings couldn't take it, those adorable scavengers sob.
tunaflash
He has a bat face or something.

Me, Grimlock Back Baby!
RMStunticon
Wonder what he's destroying.
Acid Wing
Awesome cover. Wonder if he's still hanging out with the Decepticon Scavengers? Or if he's back to his usual self? And when he'll hook up with the rest of the Dinobot gang…

So much good news coming out at the moment. Very exciting times ahead.

The art looks amazing for that cover.
