The author of the ongoing IDW Publishing comic series Transformers: More than Meets the Eye, James Roberts, has just posted a tweet sharing the title of this season’s MTME finale: The Dying of the Light. He also indicates that the finale will be longer than Target: 2006, which was an 11 issue part of the United Kingdom version of the 1980s Marvel Comics series The Transformers.
What does this news imply for the IDW series, and what does it mean for the characters on board the Lost Light? Discuss on the boards!

Not sure what you mean by "the suckiness of modern 'Cons" but i'm certainly fed up with fire-haired fembots, charisma parasites and the incessant and tiresome glorifying of earth culture, wich from someone who more than most has given the Cybertronian race a background, history and soul is really dissapointing. What, painting, writing and sculpting are such unique abilities that only humans can do it ?
Issue 44 has given me hope however that Roberts has gotten back on track now and MTMTE will return to it's former splendor
Lumpy
That means every issue will be a double issue then, right? Cuz Target:2006 was 11 issues of 20 pages, and MTMTE is currently 22 pages, I think, so it'll have to be doubled… I just hope that doesn't mean it'll be 4 artists per book.

Oh man this sounds awesome.
I'm guessing based on that title. Tyrest and co. will return….between them, The Lost Light, The Scavangers and The DJD. It'll be an all out brawl.
Lumpy
volumes collect the story arc, which is 4-8 issues in most comics. A season is the collection of multiple story arcs over a decent amount of time.
Rodimus Prime
Why do they call them seasons, anyhow? Doesn't everyone else use the term Volume?
Wheeljack_Prime
Why does the front page blurb feature an ex-RID cover for this piece of news?
Lumpy
Why? It's the culmination of a few story arcs, just like what TV shows do. Makes sense to me, I'm just glad there's not a few month delay between seasons.
Reask
Oh dear, a lot of loved ones are going to die again aren't they? I loved Remain in Light, bring on The Dying of the Light. I'm going to pick up Target 2006 before this season ends though, I've heard good reviews of the classic story.
Underwear
I would love to see The DJD brutally annihilated.

I held the scripts to Strangers #25-27 in my hands, I saw the finished art, and they were still cancelled and never saw publication. I don't think anything is a certainty when it comes to comics.
On topic, it'd be neat to see how they plan to wrap up everything, but at the same time IDW as a whole has kind of killed interest in IDW for me, so it takes effort to even work through an issue nowadays.

I can't stress enough how stupid i feel the idea of a 'season finale' for an ongoing monthly comic book is.
QLRformer
Well, the Lost Light will not go gently into the night, but rage against the dying of the light. As Transformers, these Transformers, would do.
Chopperface
Haha thanks! I know it's off-topic, but I figured it'd be funny to have Megatron as the gun Carol was pointing, and it's like she's making him look at the flowers.
Ah, okay, yeah I missed that interview.
Shepard Prime
I'm pleased that both TFs and MtMtE are talking issue #60 and #70 with confidence. In today's comic field, I don't take it for granted that titles I love will keep going so it's nice to hear that they've plotted that far out and expecting to reach it..
soundwaverulls
Sounds like it'll certainly be long enough. However, there's now two things to worry about. The suckiness of modern 'Cons making the DJD a letdown as well as the suckiness of recent MTMTE issues making the whole story a ludicrous, poorly thought out story, stuffed with pop culture references.
Sockie
Roberts had actually revealed it to be a six-parter in an interview a couple of months a while back, but yeah, that's probably not widespread news.
And yes, it starts in February.
ArmedonLSD
Chopper Face, Awesome sig that had me rolling!!
Chopperface
Yeah we knew the title from the end of #39, we didn't know the length. So this year we had 27 issues in a season as opposed to season one's 21 or 22. And we'll probably get a prose story to help wrap things up like with Remain in Light.
Hoping that it turns out alright. So the season finale doesn't start till next February or March, right?
Prime_Directive
I feel like we knew this.
Omegashark18
Fair enough.
