The Transformers: Universe-branded The Ultimate Battle two-pack of Optimus Prime and Megatron has been sighted at a Dollar General store in Indianapolis, Indiana. This two-pack was previously released in the Classics line with different packaging, with the same molds and color schemes. The Universe two-pack, however, does not contain the DVD that was included in the Classics-packaging version. The two-pack sells for $15 at Dollar General. Click the Read On link below for more images of the packaging plus the receipt.

Repackaged Universe Spychangers at Family Dollar
Repackaged Universe Spychangers have shown up at Family Dollar and Dollar General. It appears the new wave (the second dollar stores exclusive one) includes Prime, Jazz and Prowl again, plus, as new additions, the KB Toys exclusive clear repaints of RiD Mirage, Ironhide and W.A.R.S. as “Mirage”, “Hoist” and “Autobot Camshaft”, again in “Universe” packaging.
Thanks to Nevermore and Seibertron for the news.
Universe Wave 2: Terradive Wideload Signal Flare and Energon Saber
Universe Basic Assortment wave 1 was released in August 2005, exclusive to Family Dollar and Ocean State Job Lot (possibly also Dollar General).
The wave consisted of: Energon Perceptor (Mini-Con Team), Arcee, Windrazor, Insecticon, Strong Arm (actually the colors of the “Energon Strongarm” repaint, but called simply “Strong Arm” in two words) and Doom-Lock.
Assortment number was 81132, which is the same as on these toys. Which makes it more than likely that these figures will be available from the same stores again.
There was also a Universe Deluxe assortment featuring Energon Sharkticon, Storm Jet, Barricade and Steamhammer. Those were available from Big Lots and Tuesday Morning stores.
Its widely assumed that these toys are factory overstock from the Energon line that have never been packaged and are now simply released on “Universe” cards. The first wave of the Basic repackages sold for about $5.00 per toy.
Thanks to Bendimus Prime, Nevermore and FC Toys for the news.
