For our next gallery, we’re giving you a look at one of the upcoming Robots in Disguise Warrior class releases. Due for a release at US retail very soon, we are sharing a look at Scorponok with you!
The Robots in Disguise line has been going from strength to strength in recent months, with this year’s crop of Warriors being some good and fun toys. Scorponok happily continues this trend, with a toy that has a few clever twists in the transformation and a decent robot mode. Both modes are clean, with a minimum of extraneous alternate mode parts showing. The scorpion claws are the clever part – they disengage from the shoulders and slide down the arms to attach over the forearms to make the beast mode claws. They don’t secure into place, though, but the idea is cool and something I’ve not seen done before. And don’t let the spindly legs fool you – this one stands pretty easily and looks suitably dynamic in many poses.
All in all, he’s far from the best Transformer ever made. But he is cool and is worthy of a look – and with the Paralon version sporting a Beast Wars Scorponok head, I can recommend people check that one out if they want a Beast Wars Classics Scorponok for their collection.
