It’s been a busy couple weeks here for me gallery wise. Three different 3A pieces dropped, along with four Masterpiece series figures, all things I generally dig. Due to the holidays and all this awesomeness dropping so close together, we continue the galleries here into January! On the Masterpiece front we had MP-29+ Shockwave, MP-36+ Megatron, MP-09 Rodimus Prime Reissue (gallery soon) and today’s MPM-6 Ironhide. MPM-6 dropped a bit ago, and was floating around via leaks way before that, but he’s finally fully out and ready for MPM collector shelves. As a figure, he does what he’s supposed to do, look like Ironhide from the Movieverse in both modes pretty faithfully. There are some engineering issues that hinder posing a bit, but you can get him into most poses you need and so long as you don’t bump him or walk in your room too hard, he’ll stay there just fine 🙂 Once posed, he looks great, the best Movieverse version of Ironhide yet. I’m just glad he gave Carl from Aqua Teen his sweatpants back.
He’s in stock now and shipping from TFSource!

Via Twitter user @BertTheStrmtrpr we have our first clear look at the new War For Cybertron: Siege Leader Class Optimus Prime,
After a few hours of our first blurry image, now we have a better shot of this new Optimus Prime mold which is heavily based on the design of Transformers: Cybertron Optimus Prime toy. From what we can see, this figure may be a heavy remold of the Siege Ultra Magnus toy with new and detailed armor.
It’s a nice surprise to see this homage to one of the best designs from the Unicron Trilogy era. Do you think we will get more homages like this one? Armada, Energon maybe? What could be the possible repaints? Let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!
“Peace through tyranny.” Masterpiece MP-36+ is out in the wild and today we are taking a look at the chromed out version of mighty Megatron! This is a repaint of the original MP-36 figure with inspiration from the original toy. He’s chromed out and comes with a new chest and head to better represent the 80’s classic. MP-36 is one of the best Transformers I’ve handled in recent memory, and this version is just as good. I didn’t think I would be into this as I prefer the cartoon look for my MP, but once in hand and in robot mode, with the gun barrel hanging off his hip in that classic box art pose, it’s really striking. A great companion piece worthy of doubling up.
He’s in stock now and shipping from TFSource!

Thanks to 3A we have an early copy of their DLX Bumblebee from the Transformers: Bumblebee movie! This is their first smaller scale figure, measuring in at 8 inches tall. It uses their new die-cast skeleton framework, has 55 points of articulation, sculpt is direct from the movie so it’s as close to screen accurate as you can get. Paint and weathering is head to toe crazy good, it makes you double take even in normal light on your shelf it’s that good. To cap things off it comes with an alternate battle mask head, an extra gun arm, 3 sets of hands, folded and unfolded door wings. Oh and the eyes light up via LED on both heads.
3A let us know that the first batch of these will be shipping out at the end of January. A second batch will go out in Q2 2019 after Chinese New Year.
If you are looking to pick him up, make sure to check our sponsors below. You won’t want to miss this guy if you dig the Movieverse and Bee in particular.
We’ve run Bumblebee through the motions, showing off his entire range of motion and display stand poses in a simple clear format, and then some fancy pants shots at the end to really show how good he looks in best case scenarios. Click here or the link below to check out the full gallery of over 140 images! You can also read on for some additional info. I’ve left some thoughts in the discussion thread, feel free to ask any questions you have about the figure inside and I’ll try to answer!
2018 may have been and gone, but it has left us with a lot of good memories. From the Power of the Primes line to the Masterpiece series to Siege to the Studio Series and several other releases alongside these lines, there has been something for everyone to enjoy. As traditional, the TFW2005 staff have come together to present to you our favorite toys from the past 12 months. These are our opinions as individuals and do not invalidate any of the other awesome toys released last year – there were plenty of great toys to choose from, after all. We’ve taken our list from when we compiled last year’s list – so latecomers arriving in the final weeks of 2017 were also eligible, since most of us didn’t get them until 2018.
Read on to read what each of the crew felt was their favorite new robot from 2018!
Time to take a look at another epic level 3A Transformers piece – Transformers The Last Knight Optimus Prime! This is a high end, fully articulated figure of Optimus in his later era Movieverse style. Featuring the more rounded Western Star truck mode parts and his knight inspired form, this 19 inch tall piece from 3A is a masterful representation straight off the screen. As with all the 3A pieces, he does not transform, but that doesn’t take away from the quality seen throughout. He has weathered detailing and paint on every single part, light up eyes and shield gun, articulation galore at almost every conceivable location. This version also comes with an alternate head without the Nemesis Prime face paint. I think most of us older heads really dug Optimus’ look in the new Bumblebee movie, a mixup of both eras, but this is still a key form in the life of Optimus on the big screen, and it’s done as well as it can be here. We’ve run him through the motions showing off what he can do, check the gallery link below for over 100 HD shots courtesy of 3A!
If you’re looking to pick this guy up, check out our sponsors below, he should be hitting US retailers soon:
The newest Transformers Movie is in theaters today with the official mass release of Transformers: Bumblebee. That however is a prequel, showing bee in his iconic 80’s style VW Beetle form. The last time we saw Bumblebee in current times he was rocking a sleek modded version of the 6th gen Camaro from Chevrolet in Transformers The Last Knight. 3A, known for their high end, large scale figures have been doing Transformers figures since 2015. While they don’t transform, they are extremely accurate to the movie model and feature a massive amount of sculpt and painted detailing. And they’re big! Today we are taking a look at 3A’s version of TLK Bee, which should be shipping en mass to retailers world wide soon after an initial run a couple months ago.
Since today is a Bee kinda day, we hope you enjoy the gallery (I had a lot of fun shooting it!). Make sure to stop by the 2005 Boards after you see the new movie and let us know what you think! The fandom has been overall positive about the film (including me!) and we hope you feel the same. Sound off either way here! And yes, 3A will be doing figures based on the new movie in multiple sizes!
