Botcon Customization Class Toy Revealed: Minerva!
As promised, Botcon organizers are sharing convention news via their Twitter account, giving us the big reveal of Animated Minerva as the Customization Class exclusive! Minerva was a character from the Generation One Japanese series Masterforce and commands big bucks on the vintage market. And now a lucky few Botcon attendees will create their very own update in the Animated line!
Minerva is a redeco of Animated Arcee, with new head antennae. Class participants can choose from G1 or Animated styling, per @Botcon.
Check her out with either antennae set in full resolution by clicking the thumbnail! [Read more…]
Reveal the Shield Wave 2 at US Retail
Reports are coming in from California collectors that the second wave of Reveal the Shield deluxes are being spotted at Target stores. The wave consists of Perceptor, Wreck-Gar, ”G2 Laser Rod” Optimus Prime and a redeco of the Classics Bumblebee mold. Our own thedrknss48 found the wave at Fullerton Target, and a member of the Allspark forums reported the same success at Target in Culver City (Jefferson)! Good luck! [Read more…]
PCC Spastic with Stunticons Will Have New Name
In an update to our previous coverage about the use of the name “Spastic” on the leader of the upcoming Stunticons Power Core Combiners set, the outcry from some in the U.K. regarding the word’s use as a slur has resulted in a name change, even though the set was not scheduled for release in the U.K. This was posted on facebook by Hasbro PCC lead designer Eric Siebenaler to TFW2005 member Draven earlier today.
So we’ll have to see what happens to the little yellow Decepticon sports car with no name. Replacement names that have popped so far include Drag Strip, Decepticharge (ugh, that poor Alternator) and Spasma (as in the Headmaster partner of G1 Apeface).
One wag in the previous discussion thread even suggested Wanker. Clever, but let’s not push it.

CrazyDevy G1 Predaking Add-On Wings Review (and QC Warning)
I wanted to make sure TFW2005 got the word out on the risk you might be taking with your vintage or reissue Predaking when adding on these third party parts. Check out this video review by our own optibotimus316 for the full story and images. We’re told the manufacturer is aware of the issue and is sending out some sort of protective part. We’ll keep you posted as more on this story develops.
