Neil Kaplan RID Omega Prime Promo Video & Haslab Passes 6000
A cool tidbit today from voice actor Neil Kaplan, who was the voice of Optimus Prime in the US version of Robots in Disguise. Neil Kaplan has always been proud of his time as Optimus and has interacted with the fans online and in person at shows for the last 20 years. To show support for the Haslab Omega Prime he produced a quick voice over for the reveal video. This is unofficial and done quickly as you can see in the video below, but adds a bit of nostalgia flare. You can follow Neil via his Facebook pages here and here to see what he’s up to with current projects and what event he’ll be attending.
In addition, the Haslab project has now officially passed the 6,000 mark, on it’s way to two thirds funded within several days! FIYAHHHH!

Haslab RID 2001 Omega Prime In-Hand Recap
Hasbro’s launch fanstream for the next Haslab just wrapped with the reveal of Transformers Generations Legacy United Robots In Disguise 2001 Omega Prime!
The project is already live and able to be backed over at Hasbro Pulse here but BMAC and Evan walked us through the all new and updated figure(s) in detail. Read on for pics and notes from the stream:
- Design focused on stability in Super mode. He is able to support all his combinations now.
- Optimus Prime is bigger than his original toy. Looks quite big compared to recent retail toys.
- Base mode is compatible with Titan Masters. It has some spaces to sit them.
- Super Mode has got improved articulation, more noticeable in the ankles. He’s about Commander size.
- Optimus Prime’s backpack now gives extra support for the armor.
- Proportions in Super Mode have been improved.
- Super Mode is tall enough for the ladder not needed to be fold for the figure to stand.
- The final toy will still feature the same vac metallized parts of the original toy.
- Ultra Magnus is now Commander size and has got the most improvements compared to the original toy in terms of proportions, stability and articulation, now featuring proper wide feet with ankle tilts.
- Ultra Magnus will have a spot for the Energon Matrix on his chest.
- Figures were designed by Hisashi Yuuki, designer of the original toys.
- New Autobot Bluebolt was Yuuki-san idea.
- Bluebolt is a Deluxe size Weaponizer/Armorizer.
- When you break apart Bluebolt in all his components, some of them can be used as filler gaps for Ultra Magnus.
- The shake-hands step for combination is still possible.
- Omega Prime’s chest piece will be vac metallized.
- Magnus’ parts which were still visible in combined mode (like the head and part of his arms) are now hidden or integrated in the combination.
- Omega Prime is even bigger than the original toy and even bigger than Haslab Victory Saber or Deathsaurus.
- Energon Blade is a new sculpt.
Get ready to back this fantastic new Omega Prime incarnation! FIREEEEEEE!
RID 2001 Omega Prime – Transformers Haslab Revealed
FIYAH! Oh yeah it’s happening. Today Hasbro announced their next Haslab crowdfunding project, and it is none other than Robots In Disguise Omega Prime (aka Car Robots God Fire Convoy). He was the ultimate good guy in the 2000 Japanese series Car Robots, which eventually came over to the USA a year later as Robots in Disguise (the first, and proper one). In that line, Optimus Prime was a firetruck, and he combined with his chip-on-the-shoulder brother Ultra Magnus into Omega Prime. As original toys, they were both old-school leader class sized (about current Commander or bigger), and to this day still hold up other than having a problem standing up. 🙂 It was a giant leap in planned engineering at the time, having a triple changer and a second figure combining at that scale, all with multiple configurations for weapons and accessories.
Today, that gets upgraded for modern times with the new Haslab project!
The price – $249.99 USD. Head on over to the project at Hasbro Pulse below and back it if you dig it!

This was the line that was active when TFW2005 started, and was the first line that started new once I returned to Transformers as an adult. It’s now almost 25 years old (as is TFW2005). So it holds a special place for me, and I’m super hyped they actually did it!
If you are new to Car Robots / Robot in Disguise OR you just want to take a trip down memory lane, check out our side project for the line over at RIDForever.INFO. It has toy galleries and documentation for a lot of the line. Just keep hopping around, you’ll run into a lot of cool stuff!
Threezero MDLX Starscream In Hand Gallery
New gallery tonight for a soon to drop Threezero Transformers piece – MDLX Starscream. MDLX is their smallest scale, and right now is focusing on Generation 1 re-imagined designs. The non-transforming figures still have massive articulation, paint, and accessories though with Starscream here having 50 points, die cast, 4 sets of hands, null rays, blades and more. You can also use parts from Starscream and attach them to MDLX Optimus Prime, giving you a Starscream in disguise throwback to the G1 episode.
Threezero was kind enough to send through a copy a little early, he’s due to ship Q1 2024, so get ready. Read on to check some in-hand pics, then hit our sponsors below or the Threezero Store to pick up your copy!
