Thanks to poketechnic999 on eBay we now have a batch of in-hand images of the upcoming Legacy United Deluxe Armada Wheeljack figure.
Another reuse of the WFC Sideswipe mold, Wheeljack is shown off here in his robot and car modes along with his accessories.
Check it out after the jump.

Either way, 1 or 2 less than ideal remolds out of 13 UT molds (10 of which being entirely new to their release) with very little capitalized on repaint potential is a pretty good ratio, even compared to G1

Buzzsaw Worthy! Also, I don't think I saw anyone mention that the paint on Soundwave is different, I like the changes and would have kept him over the ER version even if he wasn't yellowing.
Dark Starscream
But but, I already have Siege Soundwave, Soundblaster, Netflix Soundwave, and all the regular and SS86 cassettes. I only need Buzzsaw…
Dark Starscream
Sorry United Soundwave.
Buzzsaw can be yours for the low low price of $54.99

I'm definitely down for a jet, especially if he looks close to #8 here.

Yeah, that's about where I sit on Star Raider Cannonball. I doubt its efficacy as a Red Alert mold and might not get that release, but I'm fine with it for Cannonball.
Tbh Cannonball could be a plane and most would probably be fine with it, so long as his wing decals were cool.
Enemy
I agree 100% with everything, but I've come to rationalize this one. While the mold will suck shit as Red, it works perfect for a Cannonball. The chest seems to draw from Botcon Cannonball, while the deco and most of the alt mode draws from Cybertron Cannonball, which since "Cannonball" is a title that a few different bots have held, this guy doesn't necessarily have to be the same Cannonball as either of the others.

Never in my post did I even suggest that the figures we’ve received so far are perfect, just that aside from few exceptions, they have all been their own molds.
What I’m speaking about is specifically saying that it’s unlikely for major characters to get their own molds because one major character got a really shit round. So far yes there have been issues, but we haven’t been struggling for new molds at all.

Bonus round:
The Unicron Trilogy has had things the best barring Beast Wars and G1, but it's still experienced no few errors, especially easily-avoided ones.

I feel like the Unicron Trilogy retool thing is kinda overblown… out of the 10-15 figures we’ve gotten as updates in the last 3 years, how many have actually been half hearted retools? For retools in general we have Cybertron Vector Prime and Cannonball, and Armada Wheeljack. Cannonball and Wheeljack (minicon issue notwithstanding) are actually pretty decent, it’s literally just Vector that manages to miss the mark on all levels.
I really don’t think we should take that one instance as more than an exception yet, even if it is a really disappointing one.

There's no Buzzworthy Soundwave. And reissues would indicate the figures are Buzzworthy, down to the paint jobs.

My biggest thing is I would want the horns of the Grey Decepticon head to be super accurate as it is the head I would be using the most! Because he looks so badass-"itron" with that head!
The Black Autobot head was sort of on toy model already so I am fine with whatever they go with there.
And the faction swap gimmick being seperate from the head master function means that people who want a Black head Decepticon and Grey head Autobot can have their way!
Hey if the figure is good you should feel honored to buy the same thing again with minor paint changes! You are clearly ungrateful!
Dark Starscream
Are you being sarcastic?
That's the only way you can get the new CHUG Buzzsaw… in a $50 set with reissues of Soundwave, Rumble, and Ravage.
Don't be surprised if the mincons aren't released the same way, as a pack-in with reissues of the main figures.
As G1 Wheeljack would say… "Diabolical!"
BioSpark47
Honestly, I don’t think they’d have to alter Rook and Crosswise a ton to get them to work. They already functioned like Titan/Headmasters with an added faction symbol gimmick, but that could be altered to work independently à la Siege Jetfire
Aarion23
I also think it comes down to what do we want more? Animation accurate heads? Or compromised heads because they have to be Minicons as well as combine.
And at the end of the day the human would probably be heavily compromised as well.
I have NOTHING against the Minicons! I love them all! I am just stating that we might have to pick and choose at the Voyager scale.
Now if he was Masterpiece, I WOULD expect Takara Wizardry and NOTHING LESS!
C16
No, I don't.
Sideways' Minicon interaction is FAR more integral to the character than probably any other character. I could see them doing him as a Deluxe in a Voyager slot like they did with Override to budget in the two Minicons.
Aarion23
Yeah but…. the Minicons matter more than the G1 Targetmasters and the G1 Recordicons…
Dark Starscream
I doubt they'll make it that easy.
Remember that time we had to buy a new Buzzworthy Soundwave set just to get Buzzsaw?
Or that time we had to buy two of the Kingdom Blaster mold to get both Rewind and Eject?
Or that time we had to buy Netflix Megatron to get Crosshairs' Targetmaster?
Or that time we had to buy Siege Skywarp to get Spinister's Targetmaster?
Or that time we had to buy Legends Doublecross to get Blurr's Targetmaster?
I could go on and on.
BioSpark47
They have more than enough to do a big Minicon multipack like they did with the Micromasters a couple times. That’s most likely what they’ll do, since it seems like they know people want the Mini-Cons
