OK I have seen the movie and it was amazing. Not perfect and I don’t agree that it’s better than the 86 movie but it’s very good and I can easily recommend it.
I still prefer the original G1 designs and characters because I’m an 80’s kid but as a reboot this is very well done and I really don’t have much to nitpick. And I’m a massive nitpicker.
I’m still very concerned about the box office performance because the IMAX theatre I was in was barely 10% full at 7:30 on opening night. And the 10:00pm show had even less tickets sold. Not a great sign. Hopefully the word gets around and it sells more tickets later. Bit I gotta say the ticket prices are absolutely ridiculous these days and it’s driving people away. These prices are all Canadian. I can usually get a 4K Blu-Ray for under $20 and enjoy it at home in my home theatre with the whole family. Tonight I spent $42 for 1 adult and 1 child IMAX tickets and another $14 for a medium popcorn and a small pop. That is insanity.
The movie also did its job on selling the toys. I had absolutely no interest in buying any TF: One figures but after seeing the movie I find myself really wanting that Takara “leader” Prime figure. But I wish they made a Megatron to go with it. I prefer to have at least two characters in a set on my shelf. He doesn’t scale with anything and there are no companion pieces. Maybe I’ll get the SS figures instead since they’re cheaper and I can get Megatron.

I absolutely hate spoilers and I can't stand YouTube thumbnails with spoilers in them. I have zero tolerance and if I see that crap I tell YT to stop showing me that channel. It's completely fine to make a video about spoilers but at least give people a chance to avoid them and don't put the spoiler right in the title of the video or thumbnail image. Especially before the movie even opens.
I think I'm going to see it with my son tonight. We don't go to the theatre often because of the cost and annoying people in the crowd. I have a home theatre that I spent a lot of money on to enjoy movies in peace. I assumed the movie would be sold out opening weekend. Especially opening night. But viewing the seats online there are not many sold and tons of seats available. One showing only has two seats sold in a massive IMAX theatre with hundreds of seats. I find that very odd. Normally I buy my tickets in advance but since they are charging for that privilege now I'm thinking we will just show up and buy our tickets there. So is this a bad sign for the film's box office opening weekend? Or not? Not sure. My wife and I were able to easily see Deadpool & Wolverine opening weekend with tons of seats available and that movie did very well.

Sometimes it isn't even on you. The internet is a crazy place where things can just be anywhere, even in places it shouldn't be. Hope you don't get anything else spoiled though!

Doesn’t happen.

Yeah, half of it is on me because I knew this bound to happen.

Yeah… I think something was lost when they stopped doing that with the robot voices, they don't have vocal chords or voice boxes like a human so the least these guys could do is put a sort of filter, there's plenty that exist that don't distort how they talk and still make their voices sound like they're not coming out of a persons mouth hole.
It may sound like a small / inconsequential thing but it really goes a long way, especially when we're in a movie with both humans and Cybes and their voices sound the same.
SPLIT LIP
I'm assuming what he means is that the characters lack the distortion flanging on their voices, not that their cadence and vernacular are too human. As in the dialogue is all just clean recordings of the actors with no processing or filters.

ALWAYS avoid all social media when it comes to a movie. It's annoying beyond hell how people just put up bootleg clips or whatever irresponsibly all over the place.
I've been spoiled in the past just become a random clip happens to be recommended on YouTube.

I haven't. I have grown to hate the theater experience. Add in a theater full of fanboys and that's the worst case scenario.
Go ahead and drop those spoilers in a spoiler tag. It will save me time and effort.

"My source is I made it the fuck up"

what unnatural voices from the G1? The Dean Martin impression Welker did for Mirage? The tough old Southerner affect Cullen performed for Ironhide? The fact that G1 Prime was just a John Wayne pastiche?
Delta Trion
Anyone find the V.O. at the start of this trailer to be a little off? The footage also seems sped up.

<<ATTENTION EVERYONE>>
If you don’t wish to be spoiled about the TFOne plot, STOP browsing YouTube and TF forums until you watched the film in theaters.
I probably just got spoiled by a YouTube video title alone.
Sunbow Prime
What? Most of the characters in the G1 cartoon talked like regular people.

Truly a gentleman with his priorities straight.

Problem is people think *everything* is spoilers these days. It's not, it's marketing and you're just super tuned in to the franchise and this movie so have likely figured out the entire plot already.
From the word go the film has been advertised as the origins of Prime/Pax and Megatron/D-16.

This isn't a spoiler to anyone who isn't just learning of this movie's existence right now: very funny this trailer has that "Where's Optimus Prime" line in the beginning.
Every other trailer was quick to point out the names Orion Pax and D-16. This one's like "Nope, fuck it, no time to explain, that's Optimus."
Fafnir72
I won't say best but lightyears better than the NF version.

I took a fellow Transformers fan to an early screening, my wife and I have an agreement to return on the 20th, but if my son throws a wrench, I'll walk out with him and she'll stay and enjoy the movie.

What a strange comment. You can spoil more than just a story, like major action beats, character moments and visuals. Crazy I have to say this.
