Courtesy of Twitter/X user @Roborobo2531_Cf we have our first in-hand images of the Takara Tomy Transformers One Brave Commander Optimus Prime figure.
This figure is a Takara Tomy initiative, a new Transformers One Optimus Prime toy in bigger scale and with new gimmicks and more details. The Twitter/X user also shared some comments about this new toy:
- Robot mode got a few 5 mm ports if you want to weaponize him.
- The blue energy axe can be separated in two.
- The face-change gimmick is similar to the one used in other toys. Parts are a bit small and stiff, so be patient when playing with it.
- The spring-guns gimmick is pretty fun and works in both robot and alt mode.
- Transformation is pretty interesting. Alt mode has got wheels.
- Alt mode is very solid, with no gaps in the back. It even has a connector, but we know this figure has no trailer.
- We have comparison shots with Origin Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts Ultimate Optimus Primal.

Aside Mandarake (when logged in), Amazon JP and HLJ will give shipping estimates before pirchasing.

I don't have a 30cm ruler to hand, but I still have the box of mine. Those mandarake measurements seem correct.

The box is pretty oversized. I'd still import it (aren't hasbro asking for 170?) But the fee would be like that of importing a bigger studio series leader. For advice on getting box dimensions, I'd recommend using Mandarake as they provide them for every listing, it's a useful resource.View attachment 30556766

Does anyone have any idea the dimensions and weight of this guy in the box? A lot of stores that sell from Japan don't seem to have any idea about shipping cost besides Amazon JP, he's cheaper on AmiAmi but they don't have any information on the shipping cost so I'd rather gamble as little as possible.

The MPM BB Movie prime also used MP44's trailer I believe, and the MPM-4 Bay prime used MP10's.

Armada Optimus trailer will not work. It's in the 'not even remotely close to working' category.
There is a 5mm port embedded in the MP44 connector but none of the current 5mm trailer hitches work, including SS86 OP (some have posted pics but the trailer isn't close to being level, not enough clearance).
This Takara exclusive seems to carry on the weird tradition of working with MP trailers. Takara's Legendary OP and NP figures only worked with MP10 trailers. We have MP10 trailers, but the connector also is not compatible with MP44 style.
The KO MP44 trailer seems to be vaporware.
Stratosphere
I wonder if Armada Optimus will be a better fit for that. Anybody tried it?

Well that’s interesting. Wotafa showed off in his MP-44S video that the TFOne Commander Optimus is compatible with MP-44’s trailer.

Strangely what is bothering me the most (got mine yesterday from Amazon Jp) are the feet: beside the limited ankle tilt, they should be almost as wide as the legs and there is plenty of space to make them wider.

Transformers One was an absolutely phenomenal film! (^o^) Thankfully, Takara's Brave Commander Optimus Prime really solved a lot of the issues I had with the SS TF One Prime like the visible arms in vehicle mode and the guns being a separate partsforming piece.
Of course, this doesn't mean that it doesn't have issues of its own. Unlike last year's Ultimate Optimus Primal, the plastic is just not as solid, the joints are somewhat loose, and the proportions are a little wonky. That being said, I still do think that he's the best that we're going to get. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be getting any figures of the other characters in this scale…

I think my only issue is this movie is really about Optimus AND Megatron and if this release doesn't have a similar Megatron release missing something.
Other than that it's pretty awesome release.

My only issue is him costing $20 more than primal did. Otherwise I would be all over this.

While he's not perfect, I can definitely accept this as my definitive Transformers One Optimus Prime figure for now.
He's more accurate to the animation model than the studio series for sure, it's quite fun recreating movie moments with this guy!

Doesn't half suit a gun eh?
DerVernichter
Looks great in both modes, transformation looks fun and posability seems quite good, maybe you can even use the transformation joints in the figure's torso as a fake ab crunch á la Lunar Cruiser Prime. My only gripes are how the opening bit on the helmet seems a little loose and how limited the ankle tilts appear to be. All in all, I still like the cut of its jib, and I still maintain it'd a Yellow Splendid Convoy remaint would be equal parts bitchen, ballin' and bonkers.

I’m thinking about getting the upcoming Yolopark AMK Pro Megatron since the size might look good with the brave commander, although it can’t transform

It's true. He'll be an oddity in my collection and I'm not a fan of it.
