Thanks to Weibo user NOTRAB we have our first in-hand images of the new Transformers Legacy United Deluxe Cyberverse Universe Slipstream for your viewing pleasure.
Slipstream is a redeco and retool of the previous Legacy United Cyberverse Universe Windblade. She’s part of the upcoming Wave 4 Deluxes together with G1 Universe Optimus Prime and Quake.

Yeah the null rays can't fit on the shoulders despite the images from Markclonus. These are held in place just from the friction between the arm and wing View attachment 30560751 View attachment 30560752

Hi, can anyone who already have her be able to do a side by side size comparison with the titans return Windblade for those who may have it too?
troglodyteman217
Yeah. And it's why both of them are also really bad representations of the characters from their respective show.

I like Cyberverse quite a bit and have no issue with this either. It's not a perfect likeness, but it gets the vibe of the character across–in a lineup of CHUG Cyberverse characters, there would certainly be no mistaking her for anyone else. You can also sense that the Windblade mold was made to pull double-duty, with concessions like the torso having what easily doubles here as a faux cockpit.
But I also like the base Windblade mold here quite a lot–enough to happily have it again, which isn't always the case.
But yeah, I really think this is just a case of G1 fans getting spoiled in particular with media fealty in Generations from WFC onwards. Even ignoring her mold source, the level of stylization/deviation here is perfectly in line with what Generations was doing for everyone up through the end of Prime Wars.

I don’t mind opposing viewpoints, but I wish he wouldn’t spoil his thoughts in the title or each video.

All over PA and the Dallas area I saw the same literally dusty first wave offerings for the entire run of both lines. PA I get but Dallas? I had a difficult time finding RID2015 after about the third or fourth wave too aside from that recolor of Windblade with the facemask that was often the only figure available. That sucked because I actually liked RID2015.

Australia, for one. The things turned over constantly here, with the exception of one particular Cyberverse wave that got over-stocked and sat around for 18-24 months at one retailer (oddly enough, it consisted of the Ultra class Slipstream, along with the Ultra class Shockwave that overseas was released in the previous wave). But all the rest moved, repeatedly.
Your local experience does not reflect what happened elsewhere. Neither does mine, necessarily, but as they kept making the toys for years, and they're in this to make money, I'd guess that mine is a more "normal" scenario.

Same applies to Shadow striker and Chromia.

I was never into this version of Slipstream, but the final nail in the coffin for me is the very existence of TFOne Slipstream and the potential for a Studio Series version of her some day.

After seeing the actual Cyberverse Slipstream toy, I have to wonder where the hell people actually bought Cyberverse or Earthspark figures past the initial batch of either. They certainly didn't carry any of them in stores here because that first batch never ever sold to require restocking. I think they may even have thrown away Cyberverse W1 to make room for Earthspark W1 because they never hit clearance either.

Aye thanks, that’s great! Will defo display her like that when I get her

Maxima, Stiletto and Anode are all pretty easy to get from Windblade remolds, could have been any of them. None of them have toys as well, so they'd have that going for them
The Legends figure isn't a good figure. I've owned it since release, it ain't great and it doesn't look anything like Cyberverse Slipstream. Might have been okay for 2015, but its 2024 and we're getting Flame and Xaaron coming along, yet the most a major series character can get is a figure that barely looks anything like her?
The best CHUG-ified Slipstream is the Club figure that matches up to her Aligned portrayal, or just using the Cyberverse Ultra.
Which one of the two looks closer to this design? If its a toy of Cyberverse Slipstream, it should look like Cyberverse Slipstream, not like Animated Slipstream
If I gave you an Aramda Wheeljack inspired repaint of movie Sideswipe (as a reference to Armada Wheeljack looking like G1 Sideswipe), as an answer to a request for a figure of Movie Wheeljack (either of the Wheeljacks, either Que or Pablo), then I'm pretty sure you'd agree that isn't meeting the request. Why should we accept such a poor attempt at a new figure of a pre-existing design that isn't even trying to be it?
In being inspired by Animated Slipstream it fails at actually being a figure of Cyberverse Slipstream. A repaint of Cyb Starscream with a new head would have been closer, better, and more preferred.

I know this site is known for its arguing but I think this time specifically it shows everything wrong with this release.
It satishfied almost noone.
It's a "Cyberverse universe" figure that looks nothing like the design it's supposed to. It has a head that matches the Siege/ER Seekers but the rest of the body doesn't match anything as it's just Cyberverse Windblade. Who is a completely different design than Slipstream from the same show. And all of that with the cherry on top being the fact she cannot even hold her nullrays right which is the bare minimum. If you like this release, more power to you. I think this figure is current Generations at its absolute worst.

Windblade had to be remolded into someone and not every remold is going to be extensive beyond a new head.

If he did the pencil test between a "good" plastic toy versus whatever he's reviewing; it would be a better non-descriptive example.
I rather have valid opposing view points in reviews, than every content creator give glowing reviews, for the off chance they might get "product" directly from Hasbro to review. That used to be a thing back in the day and based on all the Transformers One "press kits" that went out, I'm sure "good" reviews will continue from said content creators.

The thing with the pencil test is it’s not a bad test to get across differences in plastic, but it only works in person. That or with very good microphones that you’ve tuned to be sensitive to that noise.
I think it’s overplayed how bad it is, but I am surprised he keeps doing it given his audio equipment is nowhere near good enough for the sound differences to come across to us.

Pretty sure she was even shorter than the other clones, too.
The point Nova is making is that Slipstream wasn't a standard seeker and had noticeably different proportions compared to her 'brothers', Cyberverse just took a G1 (as opposed to the Evergreen model used for Cyberverse Starscream) Starscream and slapped the colors and lips on it. To argue she looked 1:1 like the other clones in Animated is just being obtuse.
The Legends figure is still the closest to a proper CHUG-ified Slipstream.
Whine in my general vicinity all you wish I simply think the above looks better than what basically amounts to this:

It's hard to describe feel or texture. Maybe if you're attempting to write an AI prompt, but that's still a visual medium for an output result. Maybe if you're a steamy romance novelist, you might be able to describe what he's "feeling".
At least by using a pencil, you do get an audio cue and unless you don't own a physical wooden pencil or handled one; he gets his point across.
For example, I've only handled the Siege Optimus Prime mold once in my life, but damn. That's some good plastic! It feels like something a child could accidentally drop to the floor and it would still be perfectly fine. Or shove in their backpack and it would still be in one piece at the end of the day.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, you have Legacy Armada Star Scream. You know that thing would just break under a child's hands, and be mangled and cracked if just tossed in a purse or a bag.
The "pencil test" is essentially a plastic density test. The more hollow sounding, the cheaper it is, like a cheap toy at Party City.
Also, the Deluxe G1 Prime critique is totally validated. Every single reviewer so far has insane reservations on the hand transformation. Either they're vocal about it, or struggle during transformation, because it looks like it's about to break. That should be a valid concern when the plastic quality might not hold up over time. Visually, it looks way off in a deluxe scale as well. So much so, I'm skipping it entirely myself and just get the Wal-Mart G1 Reissue instead.
The Legacy G1 Prime has other issues as well. The amount of silver paint doesn't cover the entire bottom flap and it comes off as a "Five Below" action figure. The guns are painted with a glossy black finish, which would be great, if it didn't cause stress marks in any peg hole it was in.

Combine that with cheap looking red plastic, the overall presentation makes it look cheap. Not from a pricing standpoint, but quality.
