The highly anticipated Studio Series 86 Commander Optimus Prime has been already released in Asian markets. Some reports from Baidu got our attention about a possible misassembled feet issue.
This seems to be a widespread issue in, apparently, all copies so far. The right and left heels are switched and flipped upside down, as we can verify it by checking the official renders, packaging and instructions.
These pieces are attached by metal pins, so you may need the right tools to extract them and switch the heels in the right position. It’s good to remark that this issue doesn’t affect transformation or stability in the figure. Nevertheless, hopefully this will be fixed on possible future runs.
See the images after the jump, as well as several methods and tools to fix the feet, after the break. Let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards.

Put a guide here earlier:
Heavy/Scratch: – Various mods (of mods), custom stuff
Best is still a proper pin punch and hammer setup.
There was a video someone posted using a RC wheel remover, but it's, uh, best for removing wheels. The pin diameter on that is smaller than 2mm, so would technically work. The wheel remover frame would also easily mar the plastic unless the metal surfaces were covered with electrical tape.

Here you go. Also Reactivate Optimus just because.

Can someone who has this guy and the Fractured Friendship Orion Pax take a pic of them together? Curious about the size/bulk difference
velencourte
Sure! I don't recall how far back it was, but by default the parts that make up part of his cab fold into his calves, and the piece is painted red almost all the way around, leading to this:

(Courtesy of That Toy Guy, and realistically this is the worst possible angle to show the most red.)
It's enough to bother me more than the heels ever would actually, so I went and scrubbed that (and ONLY that side) off with alcohol — that edge faces the bottom of the truck mode so it's not going to show up anyway.

A small change but it helps me!

What's the best tool for fixing the heels
flik68
What is this about removing paint from the calf panels? Haven't seen anything about that.
velencourte
My copy came in, and wow. What a toy!
I've done some minor modifications according to this thread: swapped the heels around (not that bad at all, 12 minutes give or take), removed the paint from the calf panels (the bits of red showing), and clipped off part of the head for a bit more upwards range (not much, but it's something!).
Can't wait to take photos.

In case anyone was wondering, with the right blast effects he can do the TFOne thing lol

I disagree.
I agree
Yes I agree
Well this thread isnt about galvatron so I don't know why you are talking about him.
They will get them soon. Just be patient.
franpincho
I ordered mine through BBTS as it seemed like the only place that had PO's opened. So I guess I will join you all next year.

Just got mine today. He's fantastic. Transformation is involved, but not difficult or tedious. I love the cartoon colors. And I even found a Megatron that scales perfect with him, ZetaToys Megatron/Toyworld Hegemon.
