Very sad news this weekend with word that Sky-Byte voice actor Peter Spellos has passed. He was 69 years old and dealing with cancer. He has a long career, starring as an actor and voice actor in many projects going back to the 70’s. We of course celebrate him for his work as the lovable doofy Sky-Byte from Robots in Disguise (2000). Damn shame. I never met him, but an IRL friend of mine took an improv class or two with him and had nothing but good things to say about the experience, and about him.
RiD01/Car Robots was huge for making me into the Transformers fan I am today, and Sky-Byte is far and away the highlight of that dub. I'm glad he's no longer suffering from his health issues and I hope he's in whatever better place might await us, but it's still a real shame that it went like this.
