Thanks to omegafix of the 2005 Boards for giving us the heads up of a new Hallmark Optimus Prime Christmas Ornament.
This new ornament was spotted at a Target store in East Windsor, New Jersey for $9.00. It’s Evergreen Optimus Prime design sculpted in a dynamic attack pose.

I lost interest as soon as I saw it was Evergreen Optimus. The hideous face was just icing on the cake.
Seriously if they're gonna stick with the Evergreen route, they've really gotta change some of those designs. They just don't look good, even without the horrid paint work on the faces.

Sounds right, this new Evergreen Prime (which is in the exact same pose as the G1 Prime from last year) has been on Amazon for a while now.
Looks like you're referring to the higher-end (i.e. double+ the price) Hallmark Keepsake ornaments like they've been doing of the G1 toys, etc. for a while now. Those are still going, but this year's is ROTB Primal, very very likely delayed from 2022 due to the studio pushing that movie out. The only year they've skipped iirc for the Keepsake line since Hallmark got the license WAS 2022, and it was probably originally intended to be Primal to coincide with the movie's previous release date. Would not be surprised to see 2024's Keepsake revealed as something G1-y again in a few months.

I have the nicer g1 replica ornaments, which are at the complete opposite end of this.
There are empty ornaments sold in stores but not sure if opening is big enough for a core class figure.

I did that with my mom's manger under the tree back in 85. Swoop was the angel hanging over the top, Bumblebee was the baby and so on. I do remember making the other Dinobots the wise-men which amused me greatly until my mom came home from work and saw it and beat religious respect and common sense back into me
That's the kind of paint job I'd expect on a 5 year olds birthday cake that his mom did for him when he said he wanted an Optimus cake (Trust me, I know).

The dollar store had figures that had clips on them that had about the same kind of paint job as this. I use those on my mini-tree at work. Yeah, they're kinda ugly too – but they didn't cost me $9 either.
But yeah, just go buy some Core Class figures and loop a string around them compared to $9 for this…
