Haha, this had me laughing out loud. Thanks!

I didn't realize Magmatron was a Legacy figure. Granted, that's because it looks rather like an older toy, but it's still a pretty cool pick for Commander.
CrossHero
Maybe they are just factory samples and those don't want to mess around with them too much. The tollerances on the joints could be still off and those loosen them up to much or break them.
But just knowing that they can be combined into that mode is enough for me for now. It appeard in the anime a few times, but it was never a really important part of Magmatron. The combined mode feels like the additional modes that were given to Sixshot and Black Zarak back then.
DubV
The way folks seem to be asking about it, I thought it might’ve been. (I'm nearly ignorant about the character and its media)
I could understand not putting it on boxes though. “Mommy look! Those dinosaurs are wrestling the same way you and daddy do!”
Foster
I don't think it's that big of a selling point
DubV
I can absolutely believe that the same team that supposedly left Deathsaurus on their desk instead of bringing it to the 1027 event/London (I think? Pulsecon maybe? It was something) would be forgetful enough to not bring enough copies for all modes. My only question is “Why didn’t they just take the individual dinos they had, hook em up for orgy mode on camera (is it THAT hectic of a transformation?) and then break them down into individual dino modes again for their display?
Autobot N
They didn't have enough prototypes to show it
giga-galvatron
I’ve heard of Magmatron and the animated BW shows since about 2004. I even imported Big Convoy and Galvatron and still have them. I didn’t know the character of Magmatron until the very brilliant BW comics from IDW. And the way Don Figueroa drew him, massive and imposing, I hope this new figure captures that.

Yeah Hasbro upsizing him back then was dumb. The Takara Ultra size was perfection.
Dinobot Snarl
Leader with a separate Core Armada Megatron would be perfection.
Pixelmaster
I like the design and would like to, but if he was a commander just simply doesn't do enough to justify the space commitment! In a toyline where deluxes combine, the core class equivelent has combining weapons (that are convincing), Optimus combines with the accessories and with 2 other toys, its really lame that the gimmicks Megatron has is that his accessory makes obnoxious sound effects and the sword (which he can't hold) simply light up. I really think a (modern, for the better or worse) leader sized Energon Megatron would be perfect. Big enough to look good and be intimidating, but not too big to eat up space.

Dinobot Snarl
Don't get too hasty with Energon Megatron. … I'll take a Leader though… Galvatron colors and SG colors
Pixelmaster
Mentioned on stream and in the product description, but I guess its too cool to be shown off lol
WatermelonSpectacles1
erm- where's Magmatron's dinorgy mode?
RameezTheElite
Neo is so good, it's arguable better than II. I prefer it over BWII, partly due to the fact that the show takes a darker turn in its plot 2/3rds of the way through and the stakes get higher and higher. It goes from each episode following the same plot to a show where you have to watch the next episode immediately afterwards to satisfy your wants to know what happens next
RameezTheElite
I would agree with this sentiment, but I feel like Hasbro has a tendency to take a few steps forward and backward simultaneously.
I also feel like my qualms with Legacy Lio Convoy is in part due to HasTak not revisiting the character faithfully in previous years. HasTak has done an Optimus Prime more times than any of us have visited our in laws (lol), and their designs and approach seems to improve every single time. ROTB Optimus Prime is a GLORIOUS figure. The same could be said about Optimus Primal, the SS, Mainline, and Takara leader all knock the design out of the park in their own way, which brings me great joy to have 3 representations of the same interpretation of the character.
Legacy Lio Convoy was being held back by the "realistic" aesthetic for their Lion mode. Although it does look realistic to some extent, it does not look like a traditional "Lion" that anyone would expect from what we've all seen on NatGeo or the Discovery Channel. It's proportions are still off, the Lion head is still my biggest point of criticism.
Max Tower
I think when I wrote about him previously I was stating that I find merit in the improved articulation and I like that he's bigger, what I may have said is that if not for that size increase the slightly better joints alone wouldn't have had me seeing him as a significant improvement.
That said he's likely better than Armada Megatron or Skyquake in those terms.
I would say that Beast Wars II Galvatron is perhaps a character who'd benefit from similar treatment due to how he used the dreaded gold plastic, so it would be nice to have a version of the character you'd actually dare to lay a hand upon.
Kinda like a Beast Wars Razorbeast would be nice to have it it lead to a non-exploding version of Randy to follow from Takara too.
So yeah I don't really have much bad to say about Magmatron other than maybe just that I'd rather of had BWII Galvatron, but that doesn't mean that may not follow later if this one does OK.
I'll be interested to see the Dragon mode at some point to see if they did that OK or not though.
ZipperMan29x
he does have wrist swivel
Bustermaster
Wait new Mags doesn't have wrists? oof.
Carnage73
I have driven by that building in Pawtucket many times but this is the first time I have seen it from that angle. Usually I see it driving in the direction from East Providence into Pawtucket.
