Via HK-TF 變形金剛香港網盟 Facebook group and Facebook user 艾雷, we have our first in-hand images of the new Transformers Collaborative Universal Monsters Frankenstein x Transformers Frankentron which is out at retail in Hong Kong.
Frankentron is a nice retool of the WFC Impactor mold inspired by the classic Frankenstein monster. We have images of the packaging and both terrific modes, plus comparison shots next to the previous Transformers x Universal Monsters Draculus.
Check all the mirrored images after the jump and then share your impressions on the 2005 Boards.

Ah, so it’s like Cybertron Scourge then. Good to know.

Bicep rotation, but has fixed wrist. Elbows goes like you're doing jumping jacks, and not curling from front, like doing dumbell curls.
Vector Oracle
So the elbows on the arms don’t rotate at all?
computron179
Yes can fit into hands and no the hands do not rotate.
Vector Oracle
Two questions: Can accessories from other TFs (such as guns or swords) fit into his hands? If so, can his arms be rotated so that his hands face upward like most TFs?

I'm particularly intrigued by the idea of Autobot X being involved, either as a reference or even an active participant. The echo of Spike's soul reacting to his father's danger would be a poignant moment, adding a really emotional dimension, while Monstercons are still alive and scattered, potentially seeking revenge on Megatron or pursuing their own agendas…

While a different approach to the character, G1 might have been able to get Christopher Lee to guest on a two parter as Draculus. His biggest role before Lord of the Rings was Gremlins 2. His career during the 80's was rather low key.

Uhmm, got it!

Mine got pushed ahead, too! Arriving today!

I got to thinking about your idea and was thinking that this could have been a 2 parter back then. I was even thinking that perhaps Autobot X would either be referenced or even included (awakened but has an echo of Spike's soul that reacts once again when his dad is in danger – perhaps a pivotal point for the episode).
-In the spirit of their origins while they start out as souless/sparkless automatons(transtector?) at some point in the episode they are hit with that bolt of lightning that for some reason gives them "life".
-Other powers to include to your ideas are that Frankentron is physically powerful (close to Megatron and Prime) but dull and Draculus can sap the energy off a bot either through touch or faster if he can sink his teeth in and take their energon that way (in a way making Draculus the most energy independant as he can get his energy most anywhere easily but direct contact and drain from another bot is the best/fastest). The Wolfman one can combine speed and strength (not as strong as Frankentron).
-In the end the plan goes belly up as Frankentron, being somewhat slower than the others attempts to fight Megatron causing his anger to boil over and attack the "traitors".
-Attack is successful as it seemingly buries them.
-At the very end we see that the Monstercons are still alive as they go their separate ways, likely unknowing that the others made it out to seemingly strike out on their own.

Well if we're sticking to the way the G1 Cartoon worked: A Lot, and then Not At All.
New Groups were usually super powerful on their first appearance to sell the new characters and toys and make them a threat and then after their first episode they were basically just on par with everyone else.
So I'd imagine in their first ep they'd have some sort of special powers like the Insecticons cloning and the Stunticons anti-grav and shields. Maybe they have a "Fear Field or Draculus has a Darkness ray and Frankentron can summon lightning or something. And it makes them very dangerous, where they are only *just* defeated… and then those powers are just never mentioned again or are suddenly significantly less of a big deal every time they showed up after that.
-ZacWilliam, till their toys were discontinued and they just suddenly stopped appearing or only showed up miscolored standing in the background on Char.

I'm curious what do you guys think about – how would the Monstercons' presence affect the overall balance of power between the Autobots and Decepticons?

This would have been my second-favorite episode after S.O.S. Dinobots

When I first saw the G1 Concept art for the Movie Monster figures that these are "sort of" based on I thought that it was too silly/odd to fit G1 and was mostly glad they didn't happen back in the 80s.
But as I've thought about it I've changed my mind. I actually think they could have fit really well in the G1 universe if introed Cartoon Dinobot style.
Here is what's in my Brain now:
G1 Cartoon episode.
We open with the Decepticons raiding a power plant for energy. Soundwave dispatches the tapes to fill the Energon Cubes but unexpectedly the human workers, knowing the Autobots will be coming, stand up to them and by sheer surprise and numbers delay them from filling the cubes until the Bots arrive, and the Cons are quickly forced to retreat.
Back at Decepticon HQ Rumble is complaining loudly that the humans weren't afraid of them anymore. Megatron says:
"Then we will build NEW Decepticons they WILL fear! Soundwave, find out what humans fear!"
Soundwave flips through a bunch of channels quickly on the main view screen and settles on an old man in a goofy costume: "Welcome to our All Night Classic Movie Monster Marathon! Where all your biggest fears come alive" the man cackles and the screen flips through Black and White shots of Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman, etc… while Soundwave watches.
Cue the construction of Draculus, Frankentron and whoever else. The "Monstercons" are born!
-ZacWilliam, wishes we got things like Halloween Special cartoons cause I'd absolutely watch this one.
Poe Ghostal
While I feel like Draculus is just too specific and odd (with the cape and all) to fit in with the "regular" G1 canon, I feel like Frankentron actually kinda works. I love to imagine him as the Decepticon equivalent to Ratchet.

In a wonderful surprise twist Amazon has shipped my order for this guy!
Vanya
I got an email saying that my Pulse preorder is being prepared, but it still says it'll be available to ship on the 13th.
However, my Amazon preorder just got updated to say it'll come in between the27th and 30th.
With it now only being only 2 weeks difference, I think I'll go with the cheaper option.

I understand how you feel.
