Newage Toys, via their Facebook account, have shared images of the new variants of their H57 Freyr (Legends Scale G1 Swoop).
Newage impressive cartoon-accurate rendition of G1 Swoop for the Legends scale has got two new color variants, following the previously revealed toy and G2 deco versions.
- H57B Toruk – Shattered Glass deco with a slightly retooled head. He comes with a pair of extra hands, guns launching-missiles effects and stand.
- H57C Freyr – G1 Comic deco. He comes with a pair of extra hands, guns and stand. A sword is included instead of the launching-missile effects of the original release.

this is prob the most bland of the bunch with respect to colours. but i love the alternative bot face sculpt and the modified head crest too much!
but what's with the awfully odd baby blue dots they put on the underside of the wings?!?!
think i might have to repaint those when i get this in hand.

I love the colors they used on the actual comic one, but I wouldn’t have complained if this is where they went.

SG Swoop is based on this character from the Micron Densetsu pack in comics, so you could just say it is a G1 Ravenus instead of an SG Swoop!

Indeed, I have seen those in the thread, but it said that they were a custom set, so I assumed it was a one-off they made for themselves. I couldn't find any link to buy a set. If you know of how to buy some then please let me know!

I wonder how well the G1 stickers might work on the NA wings. The EX is so pretty, but the wings are too plain. The shapes aren't quite right, buy I could get a Toyhax set and give it a go. Hmm.

My daughter knows I want EX Freyr and she dropped the hint to my wife, so fingers are crossed in hopes that it’s my holiday gift this year.
I don’t display my figures— I just like transforming and posing them on my desk— and when they hit the right nostalgic notes (as the EX versions usually do), they give me a comforting childlike joy that’s difficult to reproduce otherwise. EX Freyr is exactly the Swoop I’ve been waiting for— it just nails my mind’s view of the character I imagined as a kid.
I don’t often double dip, but the more images I see of this design, the more I’m inclined to maybe get Toruk, too. Shattered Glass as a series means nothing to me, but that figure’s colors and sculpting look fantastic.

As much as I love the comic colour version, I really hope NA give us the early UK comics version with the blue arms and beak, the nostalgia hit from that combo would be off the charts. If I could get a good match for the blue they've used already I'd consider doing it myself, but all those pins would be a pain to work with :/

For similar reasons, I opened my Freyr EX as soon as he arrived on Wednesday. Then on Christmas Day I can recreate the disappointment of not getting G1 Swoop as a Christmas present in the 80s. It's all about the nostalgia.

I’m surprised more people don’t save the bots they get in dec until Christmas Day so that they have some bots to open on Christmas. This hobby is so driven by nostalgia, and no gift on Christmas is as nostalgic as some new TFs. I don’t wrap mine, but I’m gonna have 5 new bots to open for the first time on Xmas day.
