What kind of a response is this? Are you wilfully being ignorant, instead of understanding what other people are saying?
YoungPrime
Enjoy the series.
NextToNoMoney
…Perchance, have you read Issue 1 of this series yet? You do know it is out, right?
YoungPrime
Indeed!
T-Hybrid
It was like that with the BW comic as well. You could always tell when the next soliciation was posted because the threads filled up with the usual suspects who only ever showed up to complain about previews and then vanished the rest of the month.

I mean, she literally “Sassed” Shockwave in the one example I gave, after he takes out her car…
But I will give you this; we can only hope she turns out to be like Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor or any of the greats!
We’ll see how it turns out.
Really I don’t blame you for being trepidacious. At the end of the day, we just want good well rounded well written characters. And for something as personal to us all as these characters have been (and the reeeeally bad portrayals of some of them we have had to suffer through here and there….)
I’m with you in just hoping that this book delivers in its promise of adventure with a fun cast we can all get behind and enjoy.
And the right amount of “sass” can help with that!
But too much of ANY ingredient can spoil the whole meal, ya know?

This is modern day comic book discussion, arguing with folk who only go with out of context panels and have reams and reams of opinions for some reason.
CactusReporter
It's quite odd that you're arguing for this speculation on a view of a character you've barely even seen, seeing as how you haven't even read the first issue. Most of us here have so we already know Carly isn't sassy. This is just odd.
YoungPrime
There's "Courageous" and there's "Sassy". Two different things… and G1 Carly was not Sassy and annoying for the most part. That panel of her in question was triggering because I see it too often…
"Well uh duuuh you must hate women then"! This is the pathetic crap you see and hear after a Kevin Samuel's interview when all valid points are made.

Say less!
Anyway It's not what you do with Carly it's how you do it. So if she ends up being a young charismatic Ripley from Aliens then perhaps we all win. But if she's crabby Kelly from Cust. Service, then…. we might have to work around that (Barber practically did it with Pyra Magna, so I'm not making this up).
It's speculation, which is still allowed in here..

Edit: Also, ever heard of the phrase, "A deer in headlights"? It's not an uncommon occurance
T-Hybrid
I'm gonna nitpick, but even *in* context how does Prime just stomp on a deer? Those things would never let him get that close.
I was talking offline with a friend about it and he suggested it would make more sense for him to run one over in alt mode.
Maybe more context would help, but the execution comes off almost comedic at first which makes it hard to pivot to what's likely about to be a more serious discussion later.

Lively discourse is fine, but the personal insults and piling-on definitely aren't needed. Please keep it civil.

I’m not trying to join in on any arguments, but I think it’s worth pointing out that Carly in the old cartoon had a consistently strong personality and was more gung-ho for adventures than even Spike.
Just check Desertion of the Dinobots;
Any girl that can outmaneuver Devastator in her convertible has got guts!
Not to mention mouthing off to Shockwave after he vaporized said convertible out from under you!
To take one released issue and a preview and jump to the conclusion that this Carly is “Over the Top Strong Female Character” you’re worried is gonna outsmart Starscream (most characters do, btw) and beat up Rumble and Lazerbeak….!!!
I mean… chill out, ok!
I like her and Cliffjumper in this, I see them becoming good pals, maybe the way Spike and BB traditionally are! That’d be a fun new spin!
it’s fair to not be sold on buying each individual issue though… but it’s easy to jump to conclusions in the preview, I just don’t think there’s cause for alarm at this point.
Anyway, so far they’re off to a good start with this new series. And like them giant floating space heads on Rick & Morty always say:
“Show me what you got!!!!!”
Also, I’ll say this,
I was a HUGE fan of Kirkman’s Invincible Series, and loved season one of that show.
I’ll tell you, in my opinion, he sticks the landing with that story extremely well!!!
I’m excited to see what direction he moves thjs series with his writers and artists.

Yeah this is TFW2005, not somewhere like Reddit where people argue about stupid shit.

…Are you afraid that reading about women will give you cooties or something?
CactusReporter
No one is stopping anyone from chiming in to talk about the comic? I hate when people say stuff like this.
YoungPrime
Enjoy the book.
Novaburnhilde
If you ladies are about done, can we go back to discussing the comic pretty please? Thanks.
Take this little slap fight to somewhere more fitting, like Reddit.
CactusReporter
Do you…hate women?
