While we had many 2024 Legacy reveals at Pulsecon yesterday, fans of Studio Series may have been wondering when the first wave of that line would also be shown off. Fortunately, Hasbro’s Ben MacCrae has taken to his social media to announce that it will be revealed at the end of October, so thankfully it won’t be too long of a wait.
He also says there will be “even more new stuff” shown off before then as well. Whether said stuff will be Studio Series items or something else remains to be seen.
If you want a refresher on the current wave breakdowns to know what to expect, they can be found here.

Sounds good to me, if we can end up with two lines: one focused on accuracy and one where they can do whatever… Sounds like a nice balance.

Studio Series is to be the “accurate to the original show/movie/game” line and Legacy continues to have a shared aesthetic from across the brands. Perfection. A little something for everyone.

I think studio series being a slavish recreation of designs from very specific sources of media is great, and as far as accessories are concerned has gone above and beyond the ‘typical gun/melee/shield that is car part’ that the mainline is usually constrained to which is a good bonus for me
If its result is a great figure, I don’t mind if it’s sourced from any amount of obscure or unused design work they’ve done in the past.

I’m excited but again the way to do it is, concept art character comes alongside some movie appearing stuff.
DubV
So it would seem. Kinda defeats the original purpose of the line, but what can you do?
I’m sure the Bayverse folks are ecstatic that a non-existent character from a movie is getting the studio series treatment vs one of the characters they have left. As a G1’er, I’m equally miffed that it’s not an 86 Megs. Kudos to whoever actually wanted this though, happy for them.

DubV
Right? Kinda makes the “studio” part even more irrelevant now
IronWaveJRG
I feel rather bumped down, because they prefered to do a freaking character that wasn't even in the movies, over other characters that are yet to get any updates
DubV
Nor does the Henkei one they’re discussing, the point being disputed is that they won’t make transformer guns at all anymore and that’s just recently been proven demonstrably false.
Edit – And no, that’s not what I want. I’d much prefer a G1 accurate updated CHUG Megs but I’m not afraid of/dislike guns (which, let’s face it, that’s where so much of this stems from) and I don’t realistically expect the streets to run red with the blood of children if 1 was released. That said, I understand and acknowledge that Hasbro chooses not to do one at this time or in the foreseeable future.

Wait, so all you guys wanted was this toy but grey with Megatron's head?

Looks nothing like a P38 to me.
C16
Well, they also can't either. Any toy guns are banned completely in New York and California. Distribution would be a nightmare to avoid these states and they're not going to make a product they can't sell in two states and is illegal for their target audience to even own.
RKillian
Then let's stop saying they can't. Put the blame where it belongs.
C16
Which one?
DubV
Was that before they released the Optimus gun that came out recently?
Vurveyann
I think if they appear, they'll be accessories, so they don't stick out in vehicle mode. I hope that warehouse is his backdrop, though, instead of the town like Crosshairs had.
C16
But they don't want to do another one. They don't want the risk. The only way they did it last time that they felt comfortable in doing so was the red one, and they said even with that they wouldn't do that again.

I wonder if Mohawk will have the detail of spraypaint cans taped to his chestplate and the forks chained on his right arm…

They literally just need an orange tip and it’d fly.
Shin Densetsu
That wouldn’t work for SS86 most likely, it would fit better in a Generations mainline.
