Hot on the heels of Transformers Legacy United Deluxe Windblade‘s official reveal, now we have our first in-hand images of this new figure via an eBay listing.
We have clear images of Windblade’s robot mode and holding her sword. Alt mode looks solid and well integrated. Thanks to 2005 Boards member Transmimi we have a comparison pic next to Combiner Wars Windblade (Combiner Hunters redeco of the first Generations Windblade mold).

Looks nothing like the show backpack, it's just the front of the jet hanging off the back like the RID or TT one, but this time it compresses a bit. It's on a black background which masks some of the details, but if you look at the images I posted a few days ago you can see a comparison of the backpack uncompressed and compressed

I actually really like this Windblade's vehicle mode, it's objectively not the best but it's charming and cute imo.

If you ask me, Legacy has the best robot mode and the original T30 figure has the best jet mode.

If only the head didn't have to look so square as a result of being a Headmaster (the head coming off I can tolerate, just not the shape) and she had more points of articulation, I'd agree. This is probably the best based purely on aesthetics. I'll definitely be painting the Legacy one to look as much like this version as I can.

Well, Evan does want to redo Arcee as a Voyager to help compress her backpack more, in SS86, plus Elita was one in POTP so there is precedent. But, will it actually be worth it? I don't know. I'm sure some 3rd party is reading this and thinking "Hmm. We could try and do that…" but then won't. I blame Hasbro for the whole "(Insert name here) is no longer a size class but a parts count and paint apps deal" because for the longest time, it was a scale and 3rd parties zeroed in on it like a heat-seeking missile and they're kind of still there. So, if *they* made a Voyager Windblade, she'd probably be massive and out of scale with CHUG. Our only hope *is* Has/Tak at this point.
This one feels like it was hampered by budgetary constraints somewhat. The hollow underside of the wings facing forward is just kind of yuck. Like, she's 75% of the way there and they just called it a day. I do think DNA or Go Better could make a kit that would fix her up something fierce. Shouldn't come to that, though.

Probably the best we can hope for at this size. She really should've been a Voyager. Just upscale either of her previous figures, rework the backback to compress more, remove the Headmaster if they base her on the TR design, and give her proper ankles and she could've been perfect but nooo, every fembot has to be a Deluxe for some stupid reason even though they tend to have more complicated designs on average so we'll keep getting figures of them that are good enough, better than their previous versions, but rarely great.

One of the worst jet alt modes I've seen in a log time. Better luck with the next iteration, I guess. And make her a voyager FFS.

She's…mid. From the fiddly nature of the original, plus those stupid heels, to a Headmaster built like a man, to this… Windblade has had a rough go of it.
I'd say this is the best of both worlds. The stability and sturdiness of TR, the details and looks of T30. Maybe that's all we can ask for from such a complicated design.
Perhaps T30 was too ambitious.

No, Windblade does not appear to be being made available in the solid cases (4 copies of 1 deluxe class toy) that small specialist shops (JB Hi Fi, EB/Zing) will be receiving and selling.
That is not the same as Hasbro Australia not getting the toy in, though – it will be in the standard assortment cases (2 each of the 4 deluxe class toys that comprise the wave) that the big retailers (Big W, Kmart, Target) will receive, whenever that may be (given Legacy Evolution wave 1 is yet to be seen at those retailers).
Solid cases of one toy is the minority method of supply to retail for Transformers, and so far as I can tell was largely unknown in Australia prior to two years ago.
