Interesting designs!
About to cross the 'too-manga-ish' line for me, but in the end they managed to stop in time to give the figures a rather different and unique style and yet still attractive/familiar enough for 'classic/old school/conservative' TF collectors like me. Quite happy with the end result! EXCEPT…
why, why bother trying to remind people that these 'modern?' designs are trying to match classic characters (e.g., with the body color) and then change something so important like the optics. So disappointed to see purple optics for Starscream
. It is odd something so small can affect the entire 'feeling' of the figure for me. The face/body is already so different from a classic TF, that the purple eyes just kills it. It just doesn't look like Starscream for me anymore.

Maybe the gimmick is they can swap body parts or something I don’t know… I can’t think of a few exciting things for this type of collaboration.
The Happenin Rhinoceros
I am absolutely eschewing "flying Dorito" in favor of "gorilla-kite" from this moment on.
I thank you profusely
Requiem Prime
How weird we can look at these and say \"yeah, but aren\'t all THAT stylized.\"
Rob
IDW from the front BB/ROTB from the back.

Really bad digibash turning this Starscream into a more fitting Slipstream: View attachment 30100047

Siege and Earthspark Prime have their front wheels visible but tucked in their torsos.
Vurveyann
Feels so weird to see a Prime with the front wheels on the hips nowadays. Everyone else just makes them vanish nowhere.
MrLemming
Oh hai IDW-y Prime crossed with G1.
In all honesty though he does look pretty tasty, assuming the final product is up to snuff obviously.
SMOG
Y'know… that's kind of a good point.
I think it's actually an odd kind of reverse psychological compensation. When you have a transforming toy, there's a special cache to having engineering that effectively hides away all the vehicle kibble. On the other hand, when you have a non-transforming action figure, you sometimes want to draw attention to those iconic alt-mode kibble details because they remind us that this characters is supposed to be able to transform – except in this case, you can play loose with the proportions because it's all aesthetics.
Well… I've been using it since 2007!
Other people like to call him a flying dorito, but I find "gorilla-kite" somehow more evocative.
He's suffering from gundamitis brought on by a case of acute animefication.

Oh I know what it is, it's that MDLX Starscream both take elements from Movie Starscream, bit different aspects. One takes the toes (mdlx) the other takes the cbicken inverted knee (this one).
Agreed you get a good product with Yolopark. And yes, Play Arts is elevated compared to Yolopark.

Wow, I\'m so glad that they remembered to put in one of the least liked aspects of the Earthrise seekers into Starscream, that annoying nosecone jetting out the back. But in all seriousness, what the heck is going on with Starscream? He has the long looking legs of the Earthrise Prime, the thighs of the bumblebee movie Shockwave, and null-rays as tall as he is. Why?

Not interested in action figures, it's either transformable or model kits for me. So I hope Yolopark will develop stylized model kits like Flame Toys… but the licensing is probably not gonna work. Yolopark's is delivering more-bang-for-your-buck than Flame Toys like Play Arts Kai does for action figures in the both the Plamo & AMK space.
Smasher
I'm interested in these, but I don't think they'll turn me away from the MDLX line.
Gonna wait and see.
I like the IDW elements on Prime, but the one thing that made the most sense when stylizing the G1 toy is to remove the wheels from his hips.
I don't understand when non-transforming toys put the wheels back on his hips.
I understand why people collect busts, but I always have that same thought when I see one.
Has the phrase "gorilla-kite" been around for a while?
It made me literally laugh out loud.
Respectfully, it's you.

The MDLX design goes in the complete opposite direction in regards to the wings and feet.
And consider the wings are missing some mass here because the dagger portions are detached.
Rob
Shit, I love Play Arts Kai alot of bang for your buck, but the scale is wacky. If these guy are 8 inches I'm all over them.

You sure it's not a Square Enix and Comsat collab?
Anyway. The head sculpt looks… young?
And what "secret functions"? If that function is they transform, then I'll pay attention.
Rob
Oh are these Square Enix i.e. Play Arts Kai?
MagnumPrime
Shame those don\'t transform, i love the design
Dfunk1210
Square Enix? No, no. It\'s Unix Square
Enzo H
Same.
