Via domdukehazard on Reddit, we’ve got our first look at the upcoming Transformers Legacy “Animated Universe” Bumblebee!
Based on the Bumblebee who featured in the beloved 2008 Cartoon Network series Transformers Animated, Legacy Animated Bumblebee features his arm-mounted stingers and has a design that draws on the original design, although with a couple of tweaks to fit modern aesthetics – such as changing the feet from the original “car hood boots”. Your mileage may vary on how successful this update may be, or whether it now looks too close to the generic “Evergreen” design featured in Transformers Cyberverse.
Sound off with your thoughts on the 2005 boards!
Update: More images, including alt mode, courtesy of TFW user Transmimi.

This is not directed towards anyone; but I very sloppily edited the world's most awesome image of Animated Bumblebee to be accurate to the Legacy toy.
Just to give you all an idea. (top is edited bottom is original)

I'm praying to God your right I need the horns
Yeah I'm glad Hasbro didn't listen even if I can't even get my hands on sunstreaker
Optimus1138
Brings me back to when people were saying Hasbro shouldn't make an Earth mode Sideswipe because he 'already basically matched' ER Sunstreaker.

The poster is all wave one guys plus the line's Commander and Titan. That wave 2 and beyond are missing from the art is not diagnostic of anything except linear time.

can't wait to see if my crackpot theory about one of the deluxe class Rock listing (the unnamed one) is actually a TFP cliffjumper retooled from chase.
something to support the theory is that only magneous and bouldercrash appear on the poster

Funny you mention hot wheels. I found that old cyberverse (from dotm and tfp) vehicles scale pretty well with those if that's something that interests you. I know I already bought some for that reason alone!
Yeah looks like they slightly upped the parts count for articulation and what not. Can't complain about that
I'm so hyped for chase
Praxus
Yea. The budget of the deluxes ranges between all of them and it’s safe to say Chase got the biased treatment. He’s soooo good
Praxus
K. You do you pal
maloney4playz
Personally, I think most figures nowadays should have the budget to get some more paint. But then again when you have a wave with all the figures but one being a new mold, them you're likely to stretch the budget rather thin
Whovastron
My biggest issue is the lack of paint on the feet and rear of the vehicle. At this size, the extra budget should of gone to some paint

If that's an apology, it's not a very good one. You're still acting like caring about the seating situation is this dumb thing when considering the disguise factor of a vehicle and matching styles are both valid ways of looking at a vehicle mode. This is akin to hands being visible in that it breaks the flow of the disguise.
Being half as wide in the cabin as a pretty tight car and all his small hatchback contemporaries has a lot to do with how it wouldn't be able to fit two people. You're acting like a VW Beetle fits five people side-by-side when it has a snug amount of space in the front and the back which manages to squeeze that many people in. You are once again not showing its width here next to the once-smallest Deluxe car here.
Saying "stylized" one way or an isn't going to magically save it from this criticism, especially since this unified aesthetic has been in the past realistic vehicles. This thing has a comically small cabin compared to what a car like it should have, to the point it more resembles some types of quadricycle than a car.
He looks like a great little guy and the fact that there are some weird vehicles like him out there makes him fun and unique in a way (even though you need to stretch to get there.) The stinger fitting a blast effect is a nice touch too. He seems easily like the most articulated and dynamic toy we've had as of late, which is impressive when guys like Tarn have already brought that wow factor. In a way, being a good toy causes more criticisms because there's a degree of anticipation to it and the things that are naff stand out more—similar to the way that Strongarm was such a sought after character for me that when they gave her a tiny, misproportioned alt mode that became a focal point. Bumblebee here manages to at least look like something that exists when put next to other things in the toyline, which is more than can be said for her.

Ive been at work but look I didn’t see any mention of prowl or bike conversations. And the “losing thier minds” was in reference to what happened when Bee first got leaked. Idk if you were aware but a lot of people were going off about it and such. So I apologize if when I said that it came off as talking about who I was arguing with. It was not meant towards anyone here but more about what happened days ago. And as I said in my long post when i posted him, he’s a good figure. If you don’t like him that’s fine. But from what I’m reading both on here and twitter it’s all coming across as finding the smallest possible thing to complain about. I personally don’t see how “he can’t even fit two people” Hasbro with anything cause it’s a toy that’s meant to be part a unified aesthetic based off a super Stylized design. And imo I can see it being a two seater when put up to any of the 84 cast. Hell as shown next to G1 Bee he is a smaller car but not a one seater. G1 Bee is a 4-5 seater than TfA bee here is a 2 seater. My original post wasn’t meant to start any further arguments but rather show y’all the positives. And I was a bit irritated that the first reply was about imaginary seating of a toy. So I’m sorry. And about his size, if y’all were ok with paying deluxe MSRP for any of the smaller Minibots. Y’all should be fine with this. He’s a tad bit taller than NF/ER Bee/Cliff and is actually a bit heftier than them and more articulate too. View attachment 30107586

I tried to see if I can pop on a head but I don’t wanna risk breaking any of my Bees heads off. I bet someone will tho!

That's one of the great things about Transformers.
There's a huge variety of thing to like and collect.
I had a good amount of G1 stuff as a kid and I was 6 when G1 came out and it hooked me immediately.
I was already into Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Voltron, G. I. Joe, and even GoBots which I thought were neat, but didn't blow my mind.
I had some of the many random early Diaclone figures that trickled down to the US, too.
But when I saw those car bots for the first time it was freakin' magick to me.
And the cartoon was pretty much the best thing there was to watch back then.
Sometimes I wonder what a modern remake of The Transformers would look like today with a proper anime budget and top-notch artwork.
And how the stories would be different when adjusting them to a modern setting.
Anywho, Tracks!
Has my favorite alt mode of all car bots.
Mm-hmm. Nothing beats the curse on a Stingray!

I don't love it as much as I thought I would, but I do have both the Walmart VW Bumblebee and the Cliffjumper repaint from that Target Worlds Collide set. Been thinking about replacing the head on the Target one to make him into Bumper, so I would have an extra G1 Bee head…

I only got into g1 recently as s1 was painfully boring and s2 was good but really long, and I grew up with TFP and bayverse, so I kind of have a few different collections going on (g1, IDW1, TFP chug, TFP dlx, og animated, mpm and just a shelf full of OP himself). Because of that, I find myself having lots of different versions of dif characters. Also bay and TFP bee got me into American cars haha. Rn tho I just care about scale and engineering. That puts this guy, and chase right on my radar, maybe wb and Optimus too. This guy has potential to be a real nice g1ish bee and I love the transformation, so I'm picking it up for sure.
Most of the stuff ik Abt cars are from YouTube XD. I think bay sideswipe and crosshairs were nice as corvettes, but if I had to do sideswipe in live action I'd either keep him a Lambo or make him a c8 in red ASA better blend of the two designs. Tracks is just timeless though.

We're on similar pages.
From the get go the only thing I didn't like about the bot mode was the head sculpt and the shoulder engineering.
I was ok with the car mode until I started noticing the wonky proportions that I also figured was due to them needing the chest to be narrower.
It took a good bit of discussion to help me reach a satisfactory rationalization for to be in my collection.
So now I'm just at the point where I'm gonna get one if I can, but I'm not going to go out of my way for it.
And I'm not convinced I should be paying full Deluxe price for such a tiny bot.
See, I'm not so knowledgeable about cars that I would have been able to pick up on that.
Yeah, super car Bee just feels like a different character doing a Bee cosplay.
And I really prefer that Corvettes be used for Tracks, Road Rage, Loudpedal or new characters.
I'm more a G1 guy and my collection is mostly WFC & Legacy.
So I mostly prefer my Bees as VWs or hatchbacks due to TFA specifically.
I don't mind muscle car Bees, but I have no interest in them outside of possibly making a custom IDW Velocity some day.
But if it looks good and captures the spirit of the character, then I'm open to anything.
Praxus
Mhm. A few replies up some edited my photo and added I think origins bee head on
mikeszekely
Has anyone digibashed a G1 head onto Legacy Animated Bumblebee?
Zoo
Hate it. For other reasons. It's obv an extremely stylized c8 Corvette/Ford gt hybrid, but I don't think bee should be a mid engined super car. I like him the most as a muscle car, and I'm ok with him being either a beetle or a hatchback. As for the proportions itself? It's like an amped up version of the c8 Daytona body kit. I could see it as a real car one day, just wish the alt was for a different character
