AI in Entertainment: The Performers’ Perspective
AI and machine learning are revolutionizing the world. Entertainment performers must adapt to this groundbreaking technology that can not only replicate their voices and movements but also feed machine learning to create entirely new characters. With the support of the National Association of Voice Actors (NAVA) and SAG/AFTRA, this will be a discussion on how existing legal structures can be used in some areas and how new standards need to be built for performers and producers to collaborate on great products while still protecting individual rights to performance and publicity. Moderated by Linsay Rousseau (Transformers: War for Cybertron, God of War Ragnarok), panelists include Ashly Burch (Mythic Quest, Horizon Zero Dawn), Cissy Jones (The Owl House, Transformers Earthrise), Zeke Alton (The Calisto Protocol, SAG/AFTRA board member), Tim Friedlander (Record of Ragnarok, president/founder of NAVA) and Duncan Crabtree-Ireland (National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator for SAG/AFTRA).
Stay tuned for more Transformers-related NYCC updates and in the meantime, sound off on the 2005 boards!

There goes someone fearful of AI actually producing higher quality work than they can.
If I were to give AI a bunch of She-Hulk comics, and tell it to adapt this material into a show, I would expect a show actually based on the comics.
Whereas when the She-Hulk show writers were told to produce a She-Hulk show, it was utter garbage because those writers are utter garbage.
I’m going to support whichever creator is capable of producing the higher quality tv shows. And right now, I’m only seeing garbage writers with garbage actors producing garbage shows. And garbage does not deserve to be rewarded.
I can’t get behind your cause when you ask me to support garbage over quality.

Given their shitty attitudes during the strikes, they shouldn’t be paid better. They’re not even earning the pay they’re already getting. They are actively turning normal people away from them with their selfish greed.
AI wouldn’t be replacing human talent when humans aren’t displaying talent and are costing their studios more money than they are bringing in.
The only people who don’t want AI are those scared that AI will be able to produce higher quality work than they are capable of.
