TakaraTomy themselves have referred to it as a new line and these figures to be the first entries in their promotional material. There will be more.
CorvettePrime
I’m hoping for more from missing link like anyone else but I cannot for the life of me find what people saw that has led us to believe this will be a whole line.
Anyone have a link?
theestampede
There’s always the off chance that they go crazy and only do all the leaders, even though that seems very unlikely to me.
An articulated g1 Hot Rod and Rodimus would be pretty cool to see.
Really though, I mainly want the Diaclone molds updated for this line, I’m pretty happy with the playability of g1 after 1986 (still wouldn’t say no to updates though and would appreciate the ability to get pristine versions)

I'm curious which route they'll go. The Datsuns and Seekers would give them repaint and retool opportunities, so I think they might start to tackle those relatively early on. But, like you said, there are a number of molds that no longer exist and are going to have some pent up demand for ANY version of those toys.
theestampede
If it’s gotta be from 1984, I hope they stick with the autobot cars next.
really, though, I hope they go for the lost molds or molds that need minor improvements. Sunstreaker etc, or grimlock so that they can move the head forward
Cheebs
Prowl would be so damn good in this line.
artiepants
My prediction is a Seeker (probably Starscream) will be next due to the repaint factor
Next an Autobot car ~ maybe they take the opportunity to do Sunstreaker or Mirage who’ve never had a re-release? …or maybe Grimlock for the same reason…
Then Soundwave (Soundwave and seeker order maybe flips)
I’m really curious what sort of release timeframe these end up taking… 2 a year? Quarterly??
Dinobot Snarl
Me I'd prefer Starscream, because it would be a challenge to engineer
Currywurst
I'm pretty sure if they won't do Megatron, Soundwave will be next.
Soundwave with the cassettes released in duo packs would have just the right amount of proverbial bling to make a huge amount of fans happy and drown out the fans who would like a Missing Link Megatron.
DarkEyes
Wonder what other possible characters we could see in this line ?
I think Soundwave is a strong candidate, his mold was always awesome. Would love to see all seekers but not sure how much can be improved.
Sunbow Prime
agreed
If they do it I'm in for two of each version of gun Megatron.

There’s two optional stickers, number 23 and 24 on the sticker sheet. One homages the US box art while the other homages the Japanese box art. The former is applied to the vehicle mode and the latter is applied to the robot mode sample on display in Singapore.

Optional sticker that comes with the toy. You can leave it or add this one or a few other ones. one of which is from the original artwork used on the boxes in '84.
Ottertron
What's with the Transformers logo on the crotch of the toy deco one?? :S
artiepants
Yup, my 84 Prime had a silver Roller, blue Roller was a surprise to me during the reissues.
JJJ
Always treat the colours in photos with suspicion. Especially those from phones, or dedicated cameras that aren't used in measured and controlled environments.
For example, you'll all have seen the pictures of Tidal Wave in that thread – nice and mid-purply. And yet pictures of the Hasbro video shown at the event yesterday show a very much bluer colouration.
lord ginrai
I’m hoping it’s just because of the harsh lighting, as it looked fine in the Figure King article where they compared it to the original figure.
Fingers crossed.
Prime of Shadows
There just hasn’t been a single bad photo of this guy.
@lord ginrai you’re right, that trailer color is disappointing. Maybe somehow a consequence of it being a new mold? That wouldn’t make sense though. Very odd. Oh well, at least I still have New Year Convoy and his correct color trailer.

Was speaking more towards the exterior of the trailer haha. Was hoping it was more akin to MP-10’s , but at least the robot is indeed fully painted
Currywurst
? Even Battle Convoy came with a blue Roller.
Oh, I see. TFWiki does say the first US Transformers Optimus Prime release did have a silver Roller.
