Just in from the TFW team at SDCC 2023 are some pics from the Hasbro Breakfast Event, giving us our first look at a new product reveal – Legacy Powerlinx Hot Shot with Jolt!
As you’d expect, it’s a redeco of Legacy Evolution Deluxe Armada Hot Shot now with some new guns and a set of red blast effects. The main attraction for many will undoubtedly be Jolt, finally introducing Minicons to the Legacy line.
Check out the gallery after the break and stay tuned for more!

That is one beautiful bot.

Hasbro AU are already paying Hasbro US for the ordinary product, which is why our prices don't map to a direct currency conversion (yes, for those following at home, Hasbro gouges its own international subsidiaries on product prices – they even report it as a line item on their annual statements). I don't think that's it, or at least not all of it.
What's this selling for in the US? If it's been mentioned in the thread I've missed it – is it just the price of a deluxe and a core, or is it more?
maloney4playz
yeah. i'm guessing that extra $15 is the import tax. cause no way is the extra gun and the blast effect worth $15
JJJ
Heh.
I tend to be much, much less fussed about price than a lot of people here, and, even were I inclined to buy a second Hot Rod in different colours for some reason to go with the micron, I still wouldn't be happy about that price. For reference, here in Australia the price of a deluxe at JB Hi Fi is $40, and the price of a core is $20. And that combination is being sold here for another $15 on top.

I stand corrected, my bad. Yeah we did see Powerlinx Blackout

I just remembered. we do see Blackout again briefly when Demolisher deploys him on Unicron.

The 5 of them from episode 44 (Hot Shot, Red Alert, Starscream, Demolishor, and Megatron/Galvatron) had the color upgrades, Optimus also gets his black colors later on although while similarly named "Powerlinx" in the toys is actually a different thing and unrelated to the 5 before.
It's because of show accuracy, for some odd reason unlike the toys not only would the minicon partners not change colors but disappear all together (which also takes away the activated weapons the big bots have). So red Powerlinx Hot Shot only had these as his weapons.
Actually it's just Leader-1 (who was only seen permanently transformed combined for Galvatron's front turret mode, which was only there because of the Tidal Wave combination requiring it) and Swindle (which is the only one we get to see fully both in bot and car mode with the new color, and also still activate Starscream's cannons one last time).

Sparkplug indeed didn't get a new color (and the entire change of design the Corona Sparkplug toy had was absent), Jolt, B̶l̶a̶c̶k̶o̶u̶t̶, and Longarm was just never seen again after the power upgrade/color change in epsode 44. (Edit. Blackout also did appear again, and with the new color).

But….why?!?
Gzstg
I think on the toys they do. but in the show most don't. as its another spoiler
save for swindle.

On top of that, the two extra guns he comes with are specifically modelled after the two random rifles that he had in one episode of the show.

It's so wild to see an Armada figure get the same "here's an accessory the character used once" treatment that G1 Masterpiece figures get.
Yep, them too, but only the ones whose partners got the Powerlinx upgrade in the show (Blackout, Swindle, Leader-1, Jolt, and Longarm). Sparkplug is the only one who didn't get a color change in the show, since Optimus got his "Powerlinx" colors under different circumstances.

Thank you for your responses.
In order to limit my spending on my TF collection, I restrict myself from buying repaints of Figures not in cannon, and to only buy one of each mould. There are exceptions, such as different characters like for the seekers, or if there are a minimum of remoulding like just the head, again because it's a different character, or because it's my favorite character AND I MUST HAVE THEM ALL!!! Ah-hem, sorry about that.
Knowing that those powerlinx recolors are cannon has changed my stand on this particular Hot Shot Figure. I will buy it and be happy with my purchase.
The Mini-Cons don't change colors to, do they?
Vector Oracle
Some of them are in the show and some of them aren’t. (The ones that aren’t are indeed toy-exclusive decoes, like all of the BW Transmetal toys that never made it into the show.) You’ll see what I mean when you get to that point in the series.
Pixelmaster
Going through the HK ACG booth photos I can confirm it’s out, but no one in the local groups have posted in hand pictures of it. Guess nobody bought it after all.
Well it’s kind of true that they’re made to milk the molds. Archer explained that because Japanese toylines start far later the Super Mode repaints were there to essentially buy time so the Japanese could catch up in terms of time frames whilst making more money. The animation studios just worked the Super mode repaintd into the plot (part of why I really like ML and Superlink is how tied the toys are to the show with stuff like this).
Gzstg
yes. it is a spoiler, but they do get their new color schemes in a future episode. the mini-cons giver it to them.

Wait a minute…
I just saw a few seconds clip of Hot Shot turning into powerlinx Hot Shot. Now I haven't got that far in my first time watching Micron Legends (I never watched the English version either), but is that what happens in the show? That they show the powerlinx upgrades?
I was under the the impression that those powerlinx recolors was just a fast cash grab to maximize those moulds.

Oh ok, oops
linkinparkirony
i was talking about the Legacy one

Actually never had that issue. My copy of TFCC Dion is still solid after 13 years
