Via Transformers Chile Facebook group we have our first world sighting of the new Transformers Buzzworthy Bumblebee RID 2000 Universe Tow-Line at retail in Chile.
This redeco with new-head retool of Legacy: Evolution Scraphook was found at a Ripley store in Viña Del Mar. We also have our first look at the packaging of this homage to the original Robots In Disguise Tow-Line toy from 2001.
See the images after the break and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

I’m a kid who likes toys… oh you meant a kid I thought you meant kid as in the little kid that resides inside all Toy Collectors..

My problem with this toy, is Scraphook could be repainted with Axlegrease/SG junkion colors. Make him another new Junkion with flames or the like. Tow-line/Machine Wars guys getting a new more accurate mold would've gotten like 3-4 reuses. If they wanted to make scraphook Tow-line they could've made the transformations more similar to make them more alike.
I'm still getting this Tow-line because of the colors it just sucks so many toys got definitive updates but those guys won't.

it’s not uncommon for new repaints of unrelated characters to not look exactly like they did before or share the same aesthetic they originally had.
Dictionaryabot8407
Yeah but why this character, who has a transformation scheme that is completely different and an utterly different aesthetic.
It is still cool though.

Scraphook had to be remolded into someone and as a completely new character, he has no precedence for having sharing a mold before so someone unrelated to Scraphook obviously had to be used.
Any character chosen would not be the play due to Scraphook’s unique appearance and yet he still had to be remolded into someone. It’s not as if Tow-Line was going to get his own new mold anyway.
I’ve chosen to interpret this toy as Tow-Line’s pre-Earth mold he had before the RiD’01 tv show. He would have originally been a Junkion who came to Earth and reformatted himself with his Earth alternate mode.
Ganon2099
Car/Robots was 2000 since these toys are also sold in Japan I wonder if that plays a part.

I actually quite like the head, but I just can't get past the literal Mystery Machine color scheme. It's G2 gaudy, but not in a good way. I know it's accurate, but as with 90% of Legacy, this mold was not the play for the character it's supposed to be.
Also, didn't RiD air in 2001? Did Nemescourge also say RiD 2000?

I\'m not sure about this one

I keep finding myself wanting to like this figure enough to buy one, but all I can see is nice head sculpt I could use for a custom.
TFfangeek
YES! I prefer figures to be released in the Buzzworthy line instead of the Selects line, since Target has been thorough in releasing the Buzzworthy figures where I live.

I haven't eaten at Chili's for a while.

Because there are people that desperately want "kids don't like toys anymore" to be true and will sabotage the entire industry if that's what it takes.
It's like everything else in this country where people will craft an eloborate phony reality from whole cloth to avoid admitting that they're wrong or lying.
TF Hot Rod
Very possible as a GS yes.
MegaOmnitron
Wonder if they’ll do even Roulette too
TF Hot Rod
Considering that Shadowstriker is obviously a pretool for him, 100%.
MegaOmnitron
You know with this guy I wonder if a Side Burn is eventually on the way.
Pun-3X
Ah. That's where all the Shrapnels are.
TF Hot Rod
No?
But also it’s a name on the box so who cares.
SHIELD Agent 47
Oh really now?
protohuman
You weren't even there. LOL
